Sunrise Cafe — Restaurant in Kalispell

I went in today because I wanted to get 2 breakfast to go home for the wife and I to enjoy. When I want to the register to ask the lady if they had to go orders she really did not know because she said she was brand new and only started a couple hours ago, so she then asked the male waiter if they did to go orders and he said yes and said someone will be with me shortly, then there was another female waitress that approached the counter and the male waiter said he wants to order to go and she said we'll we really dont do to go orders right now because we dont have any silverware to go with it then walked away from me when i was not done talked which was really rude and made me mad and I walked out. I did not care about the silverware because I have that at home and I did not ask for silverware only a nice warm breakfast for the wife and I, also I noticed 2 to go containers on the counter that were black with clear lids and heard the cook tell one of the waitress that her take out was ready. For being a new business that just opened recently you would expect to be more prepared for things like this because not only is revenue coming from customers inside but what about the customers that want to dine out. The wife and I really miss bogangles and not sure if we ever want to come there again after being mislead, maybe we would if we both get compt for a free breakfast for the rudeness and misleading I...

I did another visit today and was pleased with the service and food. The only thing I do want to comment on is possibly serving the butter room temp for pancakes so it’s easier to spread. I got the breakfast tacos, they tasted great. But personally for the price I wish they included a side such as hashbrowns or toast. Otherwise you’re basically paying $5 per taco. They’re not really filling in my opinion and I could pay almost just as much for an omelette that comes with hashbrowns and toast together. Other than that it’s tasted great with the homemade salsa!

Updated and looks lovely! Our wait wasn’t too long and they’re pacing the kitchen for food which is good! So you know it’s fresh.

For just opening this week I have to say I have nothing negative to comment! Our server I believe was Terry and she was wonderful and attentive.

The stuffed French toast was out of this world and I can tell it’ll be a hit here on out.

Brisket Benny was super delightful, filling and the hash browns were crispy and cooked well.

The pancake was great, syrup served warm which is another plus.

Kids drawing tablets which I’ve never seen at a restaurant yet, but kept our toddler busy while waiting.

We definitely will be back as soon as it settles down more for winter, glad to have another good breakfast place.

Not to mention the breakfast tacos the table across from us got...

My take on stars: 3 is average. 4 is a little above average.

Full pancake review below The Good and Not So Good

The Good: -Large Portions (big enough to share IMO) -Friendly staff and service -Bright and open feel -Plenty of parking -Scrambled eggs with cheddar were done well -Syrup served warm

The Not So Good: -Hashbrowns were a little cold when served -No crisp on Hashbrowns and maybe a little undercooked -Pancakes rely heavily on the flavor of the syrup -Butter is served cold and hard (personally not a fan)

The Pancakes Similar to the look and feel of pancakes found at Cracker Barrel. If you like Cracker Barrel pancakes, chances are you will enjoy these. Maybe not. Three good sized cakes come with the buttermilk pancake order. They are quite spongy and soak up the warm syrup very well. There is a slight flavor to them but you’ll need to use more syrup for actual flavor. They cut fine and keep form well.

Overall, I wasn’t a big fan of the pancakes. I won’t be a regular customer but will come back in a couple of months to give it another try. I did hear several people that seem to really enjoy it. Definitely give it a try and see what you think.
