Carlo's Restaurant — Restaurant in Kankakee

Normally Carlo's is very good but tonight I got the "Beef" Stroganoff priced at $8.99 which is pretty reasonable provided it actually has beef but mine did not. Evidently the lunch crowd got all the beef because what I got was a plate of noodles and "stroganoff flavored" gravy I did not find one piece of beef that could be considered chewable just a couple of scraps and no mushrooms at all??? They should have taken this off the dinner menu as all they had left was gravy to put on the noodles......I will probably go back as they are normally quite good but never get the BEEF stroganoff again. I haven't been here for many years. But in that many years things apparently haven't changed. Place is old kind of dirty very dingy. Menus could use replacing. Also the chicken was very dry and overly cooked. Staff was friendly with the exception of our waitress who seem to be preoccupied with everything other than taking care of the table she was supposed to be taken care of. It actually took two waitresses to complete our table of 3. When I go back possibly if somebody insisted on it. I suggest they clean it up. And I know they've been around a long time but it...

Absolutely terrible! First time going and will stop elsewhere in the future. The place is filthy, cobwebs in the lights, something is leaking in the hall by the bathrooms, floors are full of food and grease and don't get me started on the restrooms. Food was inedible. Staff didn't check in once, just dropped the check off. The table next to us ordered a beef sandwich and they forgot the cheese so the server just brought them a cup of cold shredded cheese to put on her own sandwich.
