My family and I love Pho. I've had lunch at this place several times. So, one night I decided to take my family. We arrived 45 minutes before closing. I asked the manager if there was time for us to dine in. He did yes, there was plenty of time. We were seated and we ordered our meals. Upon arrival, I noticed the host that also served our food was short and rude. As soon as our food arrived, she delivered our check. And announced that they would be closing soon. She brought us boxes and told us we needed to pack it up. We hadn't even taken our first bites. I told her the manager said we had time to eat and besides, there was at least 30 minutes before closing time. And anyone that knows anything about pho, it's not an item that works well as carry out. By the time you get it home, the noodles are mushy and you don't want to eat it. She continued to explain, that she works from open to close and she had a family to get home to and things to do before she got there. So, we packed up our noodles, paid the bill and left. Needless to say, the noodles weren't worth very much by the time we got home. Even though the food is pretty decent, I'll never visit this establishment again. I'll also suggest, management should consider hiring additional servers and giving the current host/server some time off and some additinal customer...
Read moreWhen they first opened the pho was pretty good, but nowhere near as good as vietnam cafe. But it was in the northland, and therefore closer to me so i was down to go whenever I could because I absolutely love pho. Recently, however, they have absolutely dropped the ball with their pho and it is an absolute shell of what they used to serve. There is absolutely no hint of star anise in the broth and you can just tell that they've gotten comfortable with having enough customers and have lowered the quality on their pho (so it's cheaper for them to make or what? I'm not sure.) It's obvious to discern that they aren't using pho paste but rather broth powder. The noodles, bean sprouts, cilantro, basil and jalepenos are fresh, but they have to sit on top of that less than likeable pho broth and it just ruins the whole thing. The spring rolls have gotten worse too. Last time I had them they were not fresh at all and tasted like they had some time of chemical dumped on top of them. Service is great though, I would like to mention that. Really nice people working up at the front. I hope they see this review because I really did use to like the place but they have just gone down hill and into a ditch in the past 2 years in terms of their food. Same...
Read moreI ate so much, I was miserable. I tried the beef brisket pho since this was a personal favorite of the woman taking my order and I also got the Hunan chicken as a backup if I didn't care for the pho. I like Vietnamese food. I've had it three times before from a Vietnamese restaurant in the river market. If you haven't had pho before, it is a soup with a lot of flavors and can be spicy, so I like it more when it is cold out. I would also suggest trying it at the restaurant, so it comes out all together. I think my to-go pho had 4 or 5 components to mix together when I got home. I should have asked how, but by just throwing everything in a bowl it still turned out fantastic. It is a slurpy dish, so probably not a good suggestion for a first date. The restaurant was nice looking. I was the only person there around 5:30 on a Wednesday evening, but the weather was bad, and the woman said that around 6 is when they get busy. I really liked the food, so I hope they stay very busy. One of my biggest complaints when I try Asian restaurants around town is the quality of the protein they use. I'm very happy with the quality of all of the ingredients Big...
