Headrush Roasters — Restaurant in Kansas City

Even though I found out today that Headrush Coffee Roasters doesnt offer bagels, I have to admit this is a very, very nice coffee shop.

Well. After alll, their strength is their coffee, right?

Now, who cares about bagels when the cranberry scone I got instead was super yummy?

These guys really know their coffee. I used to be a coffee trader myself and am picky with this stuff.

Kudos to having and being willing to prepare a decaf americano and then a decaf capuchino which was supreme in my scale of things, size temperature, flavor, and balance between milk and coffee. I like it not so mild

I seldom set foot on the biggies such as Starbucks or Coffee Bean, because lately I find them dissapointing. Not the case at all with Headrush Coffee Roasters.

Clean, peaceful, music not overbearing (loud music, mistake many food venues make), well organized, fast service, a patio!?

Plenty of parking at this strip center, in a newly developed area of KC, MO.

Frosting on the cake was the fact that they had a soprano Ukulele hanging on a wall. I couldn't resist and asked permission to play. Amazingly, it was almost 100% tuned up! I played a few tunes and felt how good life can be when we all do our jobs with devotion and...

had a few problems with the customer service when i came in the drive thru on a sunday, first they didn't know what a dirty chai was and when i tried to be understanding and explain they caught an attitude with me, not great, then at the window when i handed over a 10 dollar bill and my punch card the two girls at the window laughed loudly, pretty uncomfortable for a customer. they then claimed the 10 was a fake, when its just an older style 10 and i could see visually that it passed the marker test, i hand over a card instead and the girl goes "oh ugh" and ive worked with the square system i know its not actually that hard to switch to a card payment from cash so that was excessive and could have been avoided had she been able to recognize an older 10 dollar bill. finally when they hand me back my card on the receipt board, my punch card is missing and when i ask for it, it hasn't been punched but at this point in the interaction im not in the mood to ask. I love headrush, ive gone once a week for the past 3 years but this was a pretty egregious customer service experience, the drink tasted...

Lovely, charming, wholesome, and fun! This little café is a true gem of Northtowne. You will be greeted with the aroma of fresh, quality coffee upon entry, perfectly balanced by the sweet smiles and warm welcomes of the staff. This local business clearly finds pleasure in its shameless promotion of other local businesses, as seen by the bulletin board by the entrance, and—the arts! Not to mention the pride they clearly take in their craft! The coffee and pastries were both delightful and remarkably affordable.

Come in, grab a cup and a treat, and fiddle around on the mudical instruments available to you! (Just be sure to keep them clean and well-kempt! Community matters!)

On the walls you will find art of all kinds. Consider taking one of the truly remarkable photos you see home with you for a rather reasonable price, and yes—the names of the photographers are available for all of your snooping needs. ((:
