Philly Time — Restaurant in Kansas City

This place has ruined me. I used to enjoy sub shops and dream of the swallow song. Alas, that has come to end. I can only dream of eating at this place and the meals I'm going to have with myself. Not quite disappointing, but it is disturbing having drool stream down your face at random times.

I had the Pendulum with extra cream cheese and Father Time sandwiches. Along with the onion rings and fries.

The cookie is actually pretty good for a sub place. Not large and only comes in one favor. I will still say that the Subway cookies are the best cookie, but this is a close second when it comes to cookies. I had it warm, which increased the enjoyment quite a bit.

One complaint is that the fries seem very generic and while not exactly terrible, I've had better. What is with places and not being able to do fries? Not sure, very close to store bought frozen fries in taste and consistency. Still, fries are fries.

The onion rings were a lot better. Highly recommend them.

What can be said about the sandwiches that would wax poetic enough to accurately describe the ecstasy experience while eating these sandwiches. I've had great sandwiches before, sadly the places I could recommend are no longer in business, however, it is hard to compare.

Have you ever felt such happiness that you've felt like crying, but since you're a man and that is frowned upon, you didn't? That describes the sandwiches. It feels the hole of emptiness I've had whenever sad memories come. I think, damn I really want one of those sandwiches, maybe it would make my life complete. It doesn't and won't, but it certainly comes close. What more can you ask for?

Super friendly staff and how can you beat the happy hour deal? My wife and I are from Philly (lived in Pennsport/South Philly for 12 years, moved here in Dec) and we wanted some hoagies for dinner. We thought we'd try Philly Time at the last minute. Well...it was hit and miss, but I think it was partly our fault. We should have gotten double meat sandwiches and cheesesteaks! (Online menu is old) The Boar's Head meats and cheeses are great...but the Amoroso's rolls are a miss. Yes, they're 'imported' from Philly, but that's not really what makes a great sandwich. That's generally what we've found in KC. No one has the right bread. If you're from Philly and want a Sarcone's roll...you're SOL. So bread issues aside, I asked for a 'spicy' sandwich as our happy hour bonus and got the Philly with jalapenos...YES! It was great! So I know what I'm having on my 2nd trip to Philly Time...a double meat spicy cheesesteak. Now if KC would get the bread situation figured out, I wouldn't miss home so much. Solid effort and...

The cashier had the worst customer service I have ever experienced. my husband and I went into the fast food restaurant a few minutes before closed., she said out loud we close in two minutes which was fine. when she started to take our orders she begins to be rudely huffing and puffing as if we where taken to long she rudely looked at us mean talk fast while taken are order rudely. I ask her a question about the menu. she said the menu shows what ever comes on it rudely Then my husband changed his order she rudely made a sound out loud as if she was irritated.walked away from the menu in the middle of my ordering to luck the door. Then we got our food it was horrible my husband's food was hot but mine was cold. Like they just through our order on together really quickly.
