Linwood Chinese Express — Restaurant in Kansas City

I moved to kc about 5 years ago from StL. No one makes Chinese food like back home, but I was encouraged to go here. I really wanted a St. Paul. They don’t have them, but they do have egg foo young gravy. The food was okay, but crab ragoon was really good. They don’t have red pepper or the orangish sweet and sour. It’s a drive through and cash only. The guy was really nice, but I like to go in to order rather than hold up a line since I didn’t call first. Well, I tried calling and got no answer. I most likely will give them another chance. They do have hot braised chicken. You get plenty of food for the money spent also. I wish them more success in the future. StL options are limitless and it’s hard to find...

Number one, they accept cash only 🙄. It is a drive thru tho. Number two, the food sucked. Ordered shrimp fried rice and chicken fried rice, potstickers, and hot & sour soup. The only thing edible was the potstickers. The sauce was great. The fried rice is a massive amount but had no taste. This is a head scratcher because the rice is brown in color which should indicate flavor...so wrong. The shrimp were decent size but again, not seasoned. The chicken tasted old. And the rice had lack of onion and had green bell pepper....very strange. Didn't even try the hot and sour soup. So disappointed after I found this place on Reddit. My first time eating at Linwood Chinese Express Wishing i could give it a half of a star the food was terrible no flavor and it seems like they took the shrimp out of a bag and just set it on top of my shrimp fried rice and with that being said do not waste your money I'm not sure who the cook is but they need to be fired I took my order back twice and it still was not even good so if you have time drive a bit West to China feast on Linwood the food is awesome and the price is reasonable.
