A Little Piece of Kansas That Can Never Be Forgotten❤️

The catfish nuggets are the greatest! (I order the same meal most of the time!) I recall fond memories of this place as child when my parents would frequent Mad Jack’s and I want to establish that same fondness with my family and friends. I visited with a pal of mine a bit ago whom happens to be very knowledgeable of fish of the sea and their taste. One taste of Mad Jack’s catfish and my pal was hooked! Thanks to all those who make Mad Jack’s food great and keep their customers Happy!

Cons Parking Dining In (I may be bias on this one only because when I dine in I prefer to be in a more secluded area, away from the business of the restaurant) However, you do get a front row seat to the making of your order’ and if you’re feeling sociable there’s always the option of striking up a conversation with the other patrons/locals.

This is not a review of the food itself, but the service I have received. This is the second bad experience I have had with Charlie D's. The first experience. I arrived at Charlie D's right at 11:00am. I entered the building thinking I was going to place an order. Well there was a lady at the cash register counting money and instead of greeting me. She asked me, "How did you get in here?". I was a little puzzled, as I look back at the door. I told her through the door (I thought it was a trick question). She then informed me they were not opened yet (with less than a friendly tone), so I proceeded to leave out magic door I walked in, at this point she and another employee informed me it was ok. I could stay. I choose not to because now I don't feel like a properly greeted paying customer. I understand if you need to count your drawer, but someone in the inside unlocked the door, not me and it should have been open if you open at 11:00am. We need more...

It's a sad thing, I guess this mad Jack's has changed ownership, and they typically say if it ain't broke don't fix it for a reason, no more combo dinners with the 2 sides we were use to, they don't even put the dinners in the same box, people go to places for nostalgia and because things taste great, we ordered fries and they were trash git my son some fries from dairy queen and they were much better, I can already tell these new owners will run this once thriving old fish spot into the ground, I guess I gotta got to lutfis now, instead of the extra side they trying to get over and give you a drink instead, they up charge u for any side outside of fries, we ordered fried okra instead and they jus gave us fries, maybe we didn't deserve the okra, I guess good things can't last forever, the workers in there didn't even seem as bright and happy as they use too, hopefully I'll find another fish spot that gives me that fulfillment the old...
