We used to go the El Maguey in Grandview Missouri several times a month if not several times weekly. The Raytown location is a little out of the way so we had to cut down our trips. I was so happy to find the Martin City location had opened. Today was the second time this week we have gotten food at this location. The first time we went in the restaurant and today we ordered online. I asked for extra salsa with each of the meals we ordered. When I went to pick up the order, I was told only a small 2 oz salsa was included for all of the meals. Not one each, only one for everything. Three meals, two extra sides of rice and two extra sides of beans. The male who identified himself as the manager said he was going to put one extra 2oz in and an extra bag of chips because of the amount of food. I said I put in the instructions I did not want any chip, just extra salsa. The manager said I had to pay $3.75 extra for a 12 oz cup. I pointed out that if we had sat down to eat they put that much on the table. (Because of Covid we get almost everything to go). I paid the extra 3.75 and advised I would not be back but would go to the Raytown location. The manager stated didn’t matter to him it was a family owned franchise. Now I guess I will not go to any of the location. The small salsa in picture is all that came with...

Not big on customer service. Never refilled water or checked on our table. The server forgot to write down one our meals so it was never ordered. We waited, waited a little bit longer and waited more. I had to track down our server to find out were the meal was, he said it would be out in a few minutes. A few minutes later he came back to the table to find out what was ordered. The rest of us at the table were politely waiting for everyone to have their food before we started eating, by the time the missing meal came out the rest of us had COLD food to eat. The food was good, portion average to small. The 5.99 kids meal ended up being 7.49, the server didn't tell us the cheese he asked our granddaughter if she wanted he was going to charge extra for. When we went to pay the bill we brought up the experience of the missing meal and being over charged, the manager said we should have known there was a charge for the cheese and it was too bad the server forgot the meal, we were also reminded several times they had been in business for 30 years. It is too bad 30 years later, at a new location they don't know how to get loyal customers. We are one and done at...

Service was bad, while they were too busy There staff was not all in sync Manager was cleaning tables but would not come out to speak to guest with issues. Food was brought out with no good presentation, my kids upset since her SHRIMP BURRITO ( I’m asked the cheese sauce over the burrito is not enough is just a little little stir of cheese since is overpriced just the burrito itself and the description said coming with the cheese, I didn’t expect it. I’m asked to the server if he can put a little bit more but he want to charged me I said but it’s not enough cheese. The supposedly manager show up with a bad attitude and don’t listen to me , and he walked away . Is not right . After my kid finished eating no happy and then the burrito gave her stomach ache and diarrhea after left her table not all together was not an...

We went for the first time this weekend and we were greatly surprised! The atmosphere was really nice and looked very clean. The wait staff were friendly and professionally. Our waiter could have been a bit more efficient but he was friendly. Food was delicious. Really like the variety of their menu. I had the El Toriado with corn tortillas and the cheese on the side (pictured). My husband got the carnitas dinner. My father in law got a burrito. Everyone was very impressed with their individual entry. Their salsa is good. The waiter was gluten sensitive informed. I cannot say if they have fryers that are dedicated to gluten free items. I did not suffer from cross contamination issues if their chips are fried with gluten items. We were so impressed, that husband wants to go again the next weekend.

Menu was extensive and creative! Modern interior was clean and spacious! Server was prompt and attentive! Flavors were delicious! (...except for the rice) But unfortunately the food portions were too small (much smaller than typical portions at e.g. Mi Ranchito or K-macho). The "Pollo Cancun" came with a super-thin sliced chicken breast, and a small one at that. There wasn't much rice on the plate, which worked out because the plain orange rice itself was bland and dry (check out the pic). It was as if they just added some food coloring to minute rice. I left a Mexican restaurant hungry, which has never happened before.
