Mr Le's Sushi — Restaurant in Kansas City

I’m going to have to give two stars. Just because the food is good doesn’t mean customer service doesn’t play a part. Not always nice when you come in and also they NEVER pick up the phone when you try to call a head to place an order and PAY to save time. Also since no one answered the phone I decided to drive to the location to place an order. I drove 25 minutes here just to be told they are too busy to take my order. Very upsetting. Had they answered the phone instead of unplugging it I wouldn’t have had to waste the trip. Start answering the PHONE BUSY OR NOT LET CUSTOMERS KNOW.

I see your response. It really wasn’t about not being able to be serviced I understand your a small business as the food is always great. My issue was with the phone not being answered. Then being unplugged. Unplugging a business phone is not a solution as customers can still drive there as I did. The solution would have been to just answer and say you were too busy to take my order and I would have understood and would have never drove there. But I have since came back and ordered food about two nights ago. Again the food is always great but the little girl you guys have as your receptionist has a terrible attitude. Maybe she noticed I was the one who wrote the bad review but to give me attitude over the phone when I said my name she laughed and then put me on hold. When I went to pick up my food very dirty attitude and rolled her eyes at me. I’m entitled to leave a bad review as one was needed. And the two stars could have went to 5 but now it’s going to one. I picked up my carry out and asked not one but TWO employees if everything was in my bag and they both assured me it was all there. This was my husbands birthday dinner and I drove in pouring ran to pick it up. Of course I get home and my husbands steak is missing from his meal, as well as the soup. When I called back and explained how frustrated I was, not only did the woman who answered the phone cut me off more than once while I was talking, but had the audacity to tell me “it’s certainly your choice not to check your order, no one told you not to check it” what is your point ? You messed up when you and the other woman told me it was all in the bag. All I asked for was the meal that was messed up to be refunded. You know they did for me? $5 refund. Are you kidding me? How about the inconvenience of you messing up the meal? So after she was rude to me AGAIN, I asked for the manager. He cut me off when I was trying to speak as well as told me that “there’s no such thing as an inconvenience fee”. NO KIDDING. I was saying I should be compensated for the lack of the meal being what it should. And the disrespect. He was extremely rude and would only give me $5 back. Never been more disrespected in my life than by the employees of this place. We have been eating here for 15 years. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK. And we will tell every person we know. Really good food at a reasonable price. Staff was friendly and supportive of their customers.

Got the General Tsao’s, beef lo mein, shrimp lo mein, vegetables with beef, Vietnamese pho #1, and two fried sushi.

General Tsao’s is really good. Get it extra spicy, makes it just right rather than just being sweet chicken. Getting it spicy doesn’t make it intolerable for those that don’t love spice, my twin 9 year old granddaughters had no issue with the spice and throughly enjoyed the dish.

Beef lo mein and shrimp lo mein are good dishes. The dishes do taste different aside from the protein, both tastes were enjoyed by my family. Lo mein dishes were more filling than the other dishes we got.

Vegetables with beef was awesome. The cook on the vegetables was perfect, just the right texture as they still had body without being undercooked super crunchy things.

Vietnamese Pho #1 was really tasty. I love getting the vegetables separate so I can add them when ready, it makes sure I can eat them when they’re perfect. Bringing the two seasonings to the tables with the dish let me spice it up as I wanted it. Really enjoyed this dish.

The fried sushi was really good, no complaints. We did appreciate the entrees more than the sushi, on our second visit we just got entrees we wanted vice getting sushi a second time.
