Quickies Burgers and Fries — Restaurant in Kansas City

They bagged about the freshness of their product, and it was anything but. They claimed they didn't do staging because they wanted to deliver a fresh product, but not only did the burger taste processed, it was the smallest part of the burger. They had a shrimp basket on special, aggressively pushed by the cashier, and also charge 1 bucks more for onion rings, which he swore would be worth it. They weren't. They were overcooked, and the shrimp and onion rings tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. Not great. It's too difficult of a process to eat here. The ketchup are wrapped In a napkin with a sticker to hold the package shut. The irony is the place is called quickies, but it's anything, but. The owner tells a bunch of stories, which is distracting, but it's a captive audience while you wait for food. And the worst part is the prep lady who had on gloves, but kept scratching in her hair, and one of her gloved fingers was wrapped in cling wrap for some reason. Not sanitary at all. Defeats the purpose of wearing gloves. I'd never go back to this place, it's a health violation waiting to happen.

Update: the owner responded... Called me a negative man. Fair, not true... but fair. What she didn't call me was a liar. Everything I said in that post was true and by anyone's standards, gross. So instead of keeping me in your prayers, focus on cleaning up your operation and pray the health department doesn't come in there. And everything in my posts of other restaurants was true also. When people are paying 13 bucks for a shrimp basket, it should taste great. When you go anywhere these days with prices as high as they are, the food needs to be great. Why should we settle for nasty, and unsanitary? And pay for it?! Lady, you're the one who needs...

I called in my order at 3:05pm on Monday February 7th, 2022. Bacon cheeseburger meal with fries and chocolate shake. Pretty simple and basic. They tell me it will take 10-15 minutes to make. This was a lie, because when I showed up at 3:20, they seemed unaware of any phone-in order being placed. There are no teenagers to blame for the incompetence of this burger shack; they were all middle aged.

The manager had to be corrected by the lady working the counter next to him when she showed him the paper he wrote my order down on, just minutes ago.

The shake was made already, but they never began making my food? They couldn't tell from the paper what I ordered, so I repeated it. Then the fry cook asked what side I wanted, and I had to ask for fries a third time. The lady asks what I wanted on the burger I said everything but pickles. I had to pick those nasty things off later when I got home.

They told me that because their computer went down, they could not begin making my order, yet the chocolate shake was already made. These people are plenty "experienced" enough to remember a time when you didn't need a computer to slap a patty on a grill. I noticed the manager telling another employee that he wanted her to make sure her coworker stayed for his full shift and make sure everything is done right, even though he just completely forgot to have the rest of my order made? I was the only customer in the store. It still makes no sense to me. Never returning here. Just wanted to warn others.

They could care less about customers who don't or can't get...

I wish I could give six stars! This little shack of a place is one that can be easily overlooked and most would just pass by it not even thinking twice as I had done so many times. So glad I stopped in a few weeks ago! I go there once a week now as my treat to myself. Hands down they have the best tenderloin sandwich and the sauce served on the side there are no words to describe the yummyness! The fries are great with excellent seasoning. The burnt end sandwich that I ordered today OMG!!!! I wasn't going to order this at first because this is Kansas City and if going to get BBQ you go elsewhere. If you have read any of my other reviews you know I'm passionate/picky about BBQ this place has the BEST burntends I have EVER had! The meat was tender and juicy and the BBQ sauce...oh man!! Prices are excellent and the portions are more than you would expect in this economy, thank you Quickies for that! The nostalgia inside is resembulant to the food and portions. The staff is AMAZING!!! Always a very cheerful warm welcoming when you walk in the door, very different from what you get when going to big chain fast food, thank you for that!! I haven't tried everything on the menu yet but I look very forward to doing so!! I will apply pictures to this post later...sadly none of my food survived long enough to...
