I just recently moved here from out of state & was so excited to support a local coffee shop in my neighborhood as part of a routine to regain some normalcy in my life.
I have been going to this coffee shop every single Friday for the last several months & as someone who has been on the other side of the espresso machine myself, make sure that I do everything I can to make the baristas feel appreciated.
Unfortunately, this last Friday, the experience that I had was enough to deter me from ever giving this coffee shop business again.
I went through the drive through as I always do, 2 people ahead of me, no big deal. I noticed the car right in front of me drove off before getting their order & thought it was strange but pulled up anyway. I sat at the drive through window & noticed one of the baristas at the espresso machine, making a drink. I waited, thinking that she would finish up and come tend to the window…but she didn’t. There was another girl grabbing a pastry, she too didn’t come to the window…another employee came from the back and talked to the girl getting the pastry, both looked at me and continued with their conversation. Another, 4th employee, came from the back with a drink, looked at me, smirked, and walk away…
No one ever came to the window. There was no note on the window explaining that no one would be tending to the drive through, nothing. I still have absolutely no idea why no one said anything…even if someone would have opened the window and said “hey we are super busy right now it will take a minute” I would have understood and held respect for.
I’m so disappointed that this was my last experience here because I really enjoyed this place. However, I cannot support this type of treatment and will be taking my...

The space is beautiful and bright and open. When I get the time to enjoy my drink in the space, I definitely take advantage! There's several tables and a bar top that provide space for working alone, working with a small group, or visiting with a few friends. I haven't been able to take advantage of the outdoor spaces, but they seem to have some awesome rooftop space with a view of downtown KC that would be perfect on a sunny day!
My go-to drink is the Strawberry Hill Latte (typically iced). It's a blend of strawberry and vanilla that's unique, subtly sweet, and somehow just perfect. When I look to mix it up, brown sugar cinnamon is my backup. However, they've had some good seasonal options, with the winter spiced pear being a favorite (a wonderful hot drink on a freezing day!).
They have several pastry options available, with my favorite being Hana's donuts. I don't treat myself all the time, but every once in awhile I need cake or old fashioned donut!
I can't speak much to the food menu, but a coworker has said the breakfast burritos are delicious, the biscuit sandwich has definitely...

Flexible seating; table tops with stools, comfy chairs for party of two and 7 tables for solo or bigger parties. The artwork and wall mural are a lovely added touch as well. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. When coworkers are smiling, you know it's a decent place to work. I went back and forth with the menu. Decided on the breakfast bowl without meat. The portions of veggies, potatoes and cheese was delightful! Adorned with a fried egg. I actually flipped it over so the yolk could drizzle over the veggies. Steaming hot and fresh. My chai is earthy, not very sweet which is actually a welcoming change for me. I did get a shot of expresso which I think overpowered the spice. They also have a drive thru. Will have to try the donuts next time. Water available in classy bottles (self serve) and bus your own dishes. Merch area in main entry with coffee and tshirts. The wood floors and brick chimney give cabin like vibes. Splitlog; a space...
