Los Compas Burgers — Restaurant in Kansas City

Stopped by late afternoon on a weekday as I happened to be in the nabe (although I don't live nearby at all). It's a relatively small place and many tables were taken with customers already eating or waiting for their food. The young man who took my order was friendly and efficient. He told me my to-go order would be ready in about 10 minutes (a single burger, the Mexicana). It was nearly half an hour later before I got my order, which is the only reason this is not a 5-star review, given what I was told. However, I must say, this burger was perhaps the best diner-type, flavorful, and amazingly yummy burger I've ever had! The burger was a little messy to eat, but I do believe it's supposed to be that way. Tasted amazing, huge portion size for burger, i couldn't even finish it but that might have been the chips and salsa. Speaking off the chips are fried in house and that salsa is definitely house made. I don't speak Spanish so I'm not sure what salsa I was eating, but the chunkier green salsa that comes yo the table was great. I like spicy things and that one was about a medium with a little after kick. Over all good first time....

Ain't like it used to be the hamburgers are smaller and now very expensive the fries were smaller and cold avocado one piece we bought 4 hamburger cambos for 80 something dollars. I wouldn't care spending that amount if the food was like it used to be ... Didn't get what we paid for very disappointed ☹️ I used to love it at El compas not no more won't go back .. Very sad to tell you the truth I really don't eat hamburger there was my place for hamburgers not no more... So time to find a new spot...
