SUB PAR FOOD AND TERRIBLE SERVICE
My husband and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat before our flight. We were met by a scowling waiter handed us a menu and immediately asked if we were ready to order. We politely asked for more time while he brought us water. When he returned with our water, he wouldnât even look at our face while we ordered. If we needed something we had to flag down our waiter by loudly saying excuse me and waving because he would hurriedly walk past our table as he got food/drinks for others. When he did see us, he looked past my husband and stared with the most unfriendly and unwelcoming expression as if we were asking something that was an immense inconvenience. Again, he didnât even have the courtesy to look at our faces. Later my husband asked for extra fries and he must not have heard us because he responded with âwhatâ and his classic scowl. Our experience was pretty terrible and as my husband and I observed how he treated others, it was pretty much the same. It is clear that service and hospitality should not be expected here. Needless to say, we will not be returning to this establishment and do not recommend...

I really wanted to try this place when our plane landed in KC, but we had to pick up our rental. It smelled so good though. We went to a bbq place in the city and regretted not eating here instead. So, when we we're leaving KC, we decided to try it before leaving town. It was a great decision! Our server, Matt, was wonderful! Very attentive. Very helpful, happy, professional... I ordered the burnt ends and some coleslaw. My daughter ordered the popcorn chicken with fries. The "popcorn" chicken is huge! It's more like a cross between chicken nuggets and chicken tenders. And there's a lot of them! Like 20+! My husband and daughter weren't that hungry so they had decided to split the meal. Between the two of them, they still couldn't finish the meal! My burnt ends were really good! I liked the bbq sauce they had in the tables too. There was a spicy and regular sauce. I liked both. The coleslaw said it had their vinaigrette in it, but it was very bland. It didnât taste like it had anything on it at all. I added a lot of salt to it. I would definitely eat here every...
Read moreI ordered the 3 meat with brisket burnt ends, pulled pork, and smoked sausage. Overall, it was ok, but I was really disappointed with the sauces. They tasted very much the same and were too sweet for my preference.
The service from Janina was exceptional, and the West Bottom IPA from Stockyards was fresh, with grapefruity citrus, and paired great with the meal. The food was warm, the burnt ends were tender, the pulled pork wasn't my favorite, and it came in a predertimened sauce which I didn'tcare for. The sausage was too spongy for my taste, similar consistency to a frankfurter/hot dog, which was off-putting. Cornbread was very dry. The coleslaw had a purple tinge, again, didn't balance well the sweetness with the lack of acidity and had dried cranberries.
I probably would stick with brisket burnt ends or try the brisket and stick to the beef options. I'd be willing to try again, but I think the portion for the 2 meat was a bit small and ordering up to the 3 meat was too...
