Tried this place today trying to support local businesses as much as we can during this pandemic. First of all when I phoned in the order, I was put on hold for 6 minutes until someone finally took my order, the lady stated that it will be ready in 15 minutes. So when I arrived, I paid for my order and she said it will another 5 minutes. So I was standing around for a few minutes and she told me to wait in my car and she will bring it out shortly. So I wait in my car, I wait and wait and wait. 15 mins goes by and I finally go in and say, is my pizza finally ready??? and she looked in the oven and says oh yes, its been ready and kept in the warmer. So I said, why didn't you bring it to my car like you said and she said well we got busy and it just came out of the oven, I can tell my pizza was in the warmer for a while bc the cardboard box was soggy when i got it. I never got an apology, they acted like it was my fault that I ordered pizza when they were busy. There was no one else in the restaurant except one other person and they came in while I was waiting in the car. All she could have said was I am so sorry for your wait . instead she blamed me for ordering at the same time as one other customer. I never got a hello, welcome to Daddy o:s, not a thank you. When we go home, the calzone was perfectly fine, but the pizza was a hot mess, when we tried to take a slice the entire toppings were all sliding off the pizza, I think it's bc they put the cheese on the top instead of right after the red sauce. Very disappointed. I would like to have the pizza and calzone again but they need to work on their customer service. the words I am sorry for your wait goes a long way. I could also understand if they had a long line and many customers in their place but I was the only one there except for one other customer that came in after me. 4 stars for the food, -10 stars for their lack of...
Read moreDaddy O's was good. The first time I went, I spent $65 experimenting with various dishes. The pizza was good. I typically like extra toppings on my pizza and pay more for to get the experience I prefer. However, Daddy O's toppings were sufficient for a good experience. Still, I may include more toppings next time in order to compare it with their traditional practice.
The meatball sub was good, though the bread was a little thick. The portioning was generous, and in all honesty, I should have warmed it up a little more before I ate it. All in all, the sub was good; it would have been better, though, with thinner sub bread.
The spaghetti and meatball dish was good. All it needed was more sauce. You're going to need to add your own flavorings.
The wings were top notch. I've had wings from everywhere and they are nothing to brag about. Daddy O's wings knock out the majority of the competition. Still, the wings are a little pricey; they are good nevertheless.
I didn't care for the baklava. When I spoke to an acquaintance about the baklava, he reminded me that it was a Mediterranean pastry. He suggested that it would be better coming from a Mediterranean establishment.
As far as customer service - which is even more important than the food - since I dealt strictly with the manager, I can say that the customer service was excellent. I have a zero tolerance for sub par customer service, and I can say he handled his business. As for the team members, I'm not sure; I didn't interact with them. We'll see next time how well they've been trained.
As you've probably guessed from the "next time" in the previous sentence, I do plan on visiting Daddy O's again. I fully recommend this restaurant to everyone who's looking for a pizza, sub, wing, etc restaurant...
Read moreEveryone likes a meatball sub from time to time, am I right? Growing up after church every Sunday we would go to Jason's Deli. I always ordered the meataballa sub as it hit the spot and had a feel good indulgent flavor. Perfect for a lazy day. This all changed one day when I moved to Katy and discovered DaddyO's. I ordered for delivery a Large Bronx Bomber pie ($19) and the Meatball sub ($8. 99) online. After ordering I checked a few emails and low and behold, the doorbell rang what seemed like only 10 minutes later. The actual delivery time from hanging up to eating was 22 minutes. Now that is FREAKY FAST DELIVERY! I run upstairs and quickly lift the lid to the B.B. pizza and the sandwich. Woaaah, no way this is real!!!!! Everything looked like the pictures and the quality of the ingredients flourished into a almost criminal scent. The meatball sub is layered with mouthwatering mozzarella cheese and just below the deck is sharp full bodied not-too-sweet absolutely perfect marinara sauce. The unbelievably fresh baked buns were being pinned back with dignity by the homemade meatballs. I'm picky when it comes to meatballs as chewy or cheap meat will send me running for the hills. No worries here, DaddyO's doesn't skimp on anything and the results are obvious. I cannot find a corner that has been cut and all I can do is sing the praises with a slice of pizza in my hand. The brick oven definitely seals in the fresh baked flavor and I couldn't be happier to have one near my neighorhood. I'm going to let the pictures do...
