I have been waiting to try this place since I moved to Churchill a year ago. But I have been holding out for a true Vietnamese sandwich emergency craving but could waddle here if I truly had to. Lucky because with where I live I would have been putting on weight and losing money on very very good food. I don't like coffee but when in Rome... So worth it. Very good. Your Instagram feed will love it. Thank me later. Jeff (I hope) was my server / host but everyone was very attentive and friendly. He did the Vietnamese coffee whole rigamaroll. The restaurant is decorated super cute but still very casual and not cheesy at all. I liked all the different hats on the wall and enjoy the big beautifully done mural. What is really really good and most importantly the food! Omg let me tell you! Oof I'm craving more just typing this. Guess I know what I'm having for lunch tomorrow. Great "little" place. I'm always trying to decide where to meet my in laws for a nice easy lunch. I will be insisting on this place every time from now on if I don't want to host myself. Seems weird to get a sandwich next door but Vietnamese sandwiches are kinda a Houston specialty and these rival any I have driven much further into Bellaire for. Can't wait to go there in I guess a few hours haha even tho I was there yesterday. I am going to try the soup next! Now that it's cool and autumn has begun I look forward to the perfect runny nose and hangover cure after the perfection that was my pork sandwich. Also I don't like cilantro so I had them add extra carrots with no problems. I am allergic to Tree Nuts (very specific) and with confidence ate the house made peanut sauce and shrimp rolls with no issues. Again I have a tree nut allergy NOT Peanut! So take that with extreme if you have allergy should know caution. I would always talk to your server about any...
Read moreNice little place and ambience. Friendly attentive staff. Ordered the BBQ ribs and Little V’s pork egg rolls for appetizers. Ribs were tender, good sauce. The egg rolls were a little on the high side given the amount. Crispy thin wrapping, filling was ok but no omg moments with the flavor. Both nicely presented.
I went for the General Tso’s , the wife the Pepper Steak. I’ve been searching for an equal to my fav that came from a local place that shut down last year. This came closer than most. That special spot for me is a batter that is still crispy, good spicy sauce and tender moist chicken. Little V’s hit the first two points. On the last point, the chicken was tender but slightly dry. The Pepper Steak had nice crispy peppers and onions, tender nice pieces of beef. The sauce itself was missing something. Bland is a bit harsh but, it didn’t have the flavor that we normally identified with the dish. We both substituted fried rice for the steamed rice normally served with the dishes. Cooked properly and fresh. This fell a little short of our flavor expectations as well.
All in all, a nice place with food that could not be categorized as bad. It just didn’t seem to be what we expected across the board. Understanding personal tastes can be widely varied, I would recommend Little V’s to those that have been thinking about trying it. It was a good experience and might be spot on for your...
Read moreextremely rude owner. I had a bday card which expired just two days before. This was a card that had no coupon code on it and yet he refuses to accept it even though we've eaten there plenty of times even before he owned the place. The previous owner who was vietnamese was extremely nice. Even when they mess up the orders, if we have to deal with him directly, no apologies whatsoever, and makes it look like he's doing us a favor by fixing it. The waiters waitresses are extremely nice though. Too bad about his royal arrogant attitude.......
after owner reply : I don't accept your pittance of $5. I had a broken foot and my husband explained it to you, even showed you the letter from the doc. you replied saying that "oh, you could have still ordered two days ago as if that was a problem". It only expired two days ago and as you said it was sent out by your restaurant as a complimentary coupon. If you had any integrity, you would have honored it based on my circumstances. Can't believe you refused point blank to honor it, after we have spend 100s of dollars eating at your place over the years. You have absolutely no empathy or worse no apologies for screwing up orders which have happened few times at least and I have to come back and pick up the right order...
