SEAHOLIC Katy Seafood & Bar — Restaurant in Katy

I would like to say last night October 11th was our 32nd Wedding Anniversary. While hubby was @ work I hunted for a Spot to eat in Katy that had wonderful reviews. Once arriving all seemed well. Nice parking, wasn’t too busy, greeted @ the door by Hostess, immediately greeted by the Server for drinks, and he was also very knowledgeable on the menu items as it was our 1st time Dining here. He had every answer for us and was very polite. We ordered the appetizer sautéed Crab Fingers. Note: Not too many places in Katy have Crab Fingers. I was so excited as our old Anniversary Spot we used to eat @ closed down indefinitely during the pandemic! 😞 it was the BEST FOOD! Hook Line & Sinker we miss you! Anyway…. Crab Finger App came out super fast and I mean FAST less than 5 minutes FAST! Note: I was a Server in the Restaurant Industry for years! All I’ve ever done was wait tables! So I know the ins and outs of the Dining out Experiences! So App hits the table and I immediately look at the plate like what in the world is this?!! I gave them a try! And let me tell you the 1st bite I took I was like interesting this Crab Finger had a hold of the crab meat and wouldn’t let go! So I gave a 2nd one a try & same thing! Sifted through about 3 more trying to see if it was just coincidence the 1st 4 pieces were just a fluke & the others in the dish would be just fine! But NO! All were the same. Seemed as if these little guys had been sitting in a pan for hours waiting to be ordered by someone! And that someone Finally arrived! ME! Also the bottom of the pan juices were also served to us! As soon as I was able to flag our server down & let him know they are not edible his Demeanor changed instantly! 😞😞 No more smiles, No more talking to us, & definitely got the feel he was thinking we were going to be that table that complained about EVERYTHING! Which is farthest from the truth! 😞😞As I mentioned I was a Server for YEARS!! Also the tartar sauce they gave me was old as well it gave me that rancid old Mayo feel when it tingles your tongue. I eat ALL my seafood with tartar sauce so when the main en’tre’es came I was very disappointed and couldn’t enjoy my Anniversary Dinner at all! 😞😞 Further more the catfish looked as if it was double dipped back into dirty grease and was flimsy not crispy what so ever! Because of the way the server started acting towards us and how no management came to our table to inquire about the troubles I just said may I have a Togo Box? 😞😞 Let me end this by saying I completely believe this Restaurant is Family Owned which is wonderful! But the reviews I read upon picking this place had to of been done by FAMILY NOT ACTUAL PATRONS THAT ACTUALLY ATE HERE! 😞😞 I will NEVER trust Reviews AGAIN!

P.S. A young couple sitting in the booth in front of us ordered seafood boil bags! The waiter took their order put it in the computer came back to the table and addressed the couple saying… I MEAN NO DISRESPECT BUT YALL ARE AWARE HOW MUCH YOU SPENDING CORRECT? I didn’t completely hear their response back to him but all I do know is he had to repeat himself to them as they were probably SHOCKED he came back to the table & asked such...

CRAWFISH SEASON!!!

First time visiting this spot and I highly enjoyed the dining experience. I came here with my sister on a lunch date and she enjoyed it as well. If anyone knows my oldest sister well, then you will know that she's a tough cookie; very hard to please. Therefore, I was ecstatic that she liked this establishment so much that she told our waiter that we would be definitely coming back for another visit, lol.

Firstly, we were welcomed and greeted so warmly by the host who found available tables right away and he let us choose the table we were most comfortable with! How cool is that?! He was friendly and funny. Their dining room area is spacious and clean. They have a large party area for special celebrations or just large gatherings.

Secondly, after we were seated we waited for about 5-10 minutes before our server made his presence be known. He introduced himself as Yang and he promptly took our drinks and appetizer orders. Although I ordered a peach Margarita, it appeared to be an orange juice flavored margarita. However, it was still delicious! It wasn't strong how like I like my drinks, but still delicious. My sis ordered a coke, but was met with disappointment to find out they do not have coke products available. Reluctantly, she opted out for a Pepsi, lol. She's a true Coke head y'all! As for the appetizer, we ordered fried calamari. It was just okay. I didn't really like the sweet tasting coating or the Parmesan cheese. I prefer my calamari fried the old fashioned crispy way in cornmeal or seafood batter and hot oil.

Thirdly, we ordered the mixed fried combo platter which consists of two choices of seafood protein, hush puppies, and Cajun seasoned fries. I ordered the fried catfish and oysters for my mixed combo, but substituted the fries for lettuce. My sister went with fried catfish and shrimp and plain fries without the Cajun seasoning. They were able to accommodate both of our special requests which was fabulous. She and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We both agreed that the fish, shrimp, and oysters were not too salty, but possessed enough salt for taste. However, they could have fried them all a little longer due to the fact that they were fried a little on the soft side. We both like our seafood fried crispy with a little crunch to it. The hush puppies were tasty but too soft as well. The center of the hush puppy was a little doughy. Overall it was still delicious and fulfilling. My sister said that her plain fries were absolutely scrumptious, crunchy, and did not need any seasoning because they tasted like a hint of salt were in them already.

In conclusion, we both enjoyed our dining experience to the upmost! Although service was a little on the slow side, the staff were all friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing with nice tunes pouring through the overhead speakers. The presentation of the dining room was impressively spotless and clean. The food was not perfect but good enough. I ordered my husband a to-go fried mixed combo with fries and he absolutely loved it. I will definitely be returning with additional family members and...

I was craving oysters and decided to give Seaholic a try for the first time. I was very excited after reviewing their menu because they had several varieties of oysters along with all the seafood you can imagine. I was seated almost immediately when I arrived and our server, Venus, arrived to the table quickly to take our drink order. We also ordered an appetizer. The appetizer arrived quickly, the seafood fries and they were fresh and tasted really good. So we placed an order for a dozen of Rockefeller oysters and house seafood rice. As soon as the oysters arrived I knew I would be sending them back. The toppings looked cold, old and unappealing and one bite confirmed my suspicion. I returned the oysters while we still waited for our drinks from the bar.

I was starving so I ordered more fries along with the smothered turkey soup but I was so disappointed because I came out for oysters specifically. The fries came out quickly with the seafood rice and soup and they were acceptable.

We asked for the check. Venus brought out the check that included 2 drinks that never arrived to our table and she was short with me when I asked her to correct it. She even confirmed with the bar as if we were being dishonest about never receiving the drinks. I quickly gave her my credit card when she returned- I was ready to go. Our check was less than $50 and this woman returned to my table telling me my credit card declined. I gave her a debit card to cover my check and the payment was accepted without issue I mention this because my credit card doesn’t have a limit so her claim that it declined for this minimal purchase was very suspicious. My thoughts are they simply didn’t want to accept a credit card payment from “me” without identification.

My experience was horrible. The oysters were disgusting- how can you serve a table old, cold oysters!? The service is curt and I was unimpressed. There were no apologies for the old food or any attempts to accommodate my experience in any way. I would not recommence this place nor...
