Went here to get açaí bowls, which looked delicious based on the menu. Walked inside and stood at the counter in front of a man working at a computer for about three minutes - he did not even acknowledge our prescience or say anything to us. A woman walked in and bought some groceries, and she was checked out immediately. The man went right back to his computer without saying a word to us. Confused, we thought maybe there was somewhere else to order the açaí and smoothies, so we walked to the back of the store only to find bathrooms. Displeased with the service (or lack thereof), the three of us left the store. However, an açaí bowl still sounded good to me, so I walked back in and up to the counter once more. Still no acknowledgement from the man working at the counter, so I said “excuse me, is this where to order the açaí bowls?” And the man without looking at me just sort of grumbled “yes”, and didn’t move or ask for my order. So I said “could I get one?” To which he finally got up from his computer and moved to the other register, finally prepared to take my order. I said, “thank you so much, I’m going to see if anybody else wanted anything, and I’ll be right back”. There was now a man behind me in line, so I said that he could check out first while I asked my family who had left the store if they still wanted anything. The man at the counter snapped back extremely rudely that the other man had already been helped. Not quite sure why the man was being rude to me or my family, especially when we were all excited to try the açaí bowls that looked fantastic. I decided to leave, and we got açaí bowls elsewhere. Would not recommend if you are trying to order anything off their menu, because apparently the man working will just ignore your presence and leave you pretending that you ordered and had a great experience at...
Read moreLove this market! So thankful I found it online and actually made the drive from Poipu. It looks far but takes less than 15 minutes and it's a beautiful drive. Tons of vegan grocery options as well as juice bar, hot food / cafe, and take away wraps, etc. We bought some groceries for our hotel room and got jot dinner and some wraps and sandwiches for lunch the next day. Prices are very reasonable too! Owner is very friendly too! It's also just a few miles beyond the Humane Society so if you've borrowing a dog for the day, make sure to stop by HealthGo when you're near the HS. We stopped for an early dinner with our doggie before we had to...
Read moreIf you’re on Kauai and looking for vegan food, this is a great place! I recommend their homemade taro burger with fries. The veggie pizza & jackfruit burrito are good too.
Thank you to the owners, who are local farmers, for adding an additional vegan restaurant to the island! I find it ironic that Kauai has a reputation as being the “spiritually conscious island,” but only has THREE non-violent ahimsa vegan restaurants. HealthGo Market being the third.
Besides the restaurant portion, this store also has a coffee & smoothie bar along with a broad selection of health conscious groceries to choose from.
