We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn for our anniversary from 6/2-6/6. Although this is restaurant is attached to the Hilton we were really happy they were there! It’s the closest place to grab something without having to drive to Kapa’a and they are open until 9:00pm for food. Well, they may not have the best hamburger we have ever had….but it was close! The Big Kahuna burger at Mamahune’s was absolutely amazing! We had it twice it was so good. The bacon and the pineapple/onion jam puts it over the top. We also had the Ahi Nachos which also fantastic. Lots of fresh Ahi poke’ and side fixings with the Nachos were delicious. I see why people come there even if they are not hotel guests. Not a full service restaurant, you order at the bar and they bring the food to your numbered table tent, but once you get your order in, the service is fast. They have a very limited menu, but everything we saw coming out looked excellent. Highly recommend. And…we miss Kaua’i.

We really enjoyed this place and came a couple of times. Great views & service. The ahi nachos were delicious. The truffle fries were ok, not very flavored but the TEXTURE of the fries?! 🤌🏻 so good The salad with fruit was light and enjoyable. We thought feta would go better than bleu cheese though. The hot dog (forget the name, but the large one) was too large for us. Good flavors but too much hot dog meat. The ahi tacos were really good. I noticed the drinks were a lil better in the daytime the first time we went but overall their drinks are good. A couple mai tai styles I tried were too sweet (and I like sweet!) but I just added a shot of dark rum to balance it out.

I am so thankful that my friend Dave Ball shared this Kauai GEM restaurant with me. I have lived on Kaua'i my whole life, eating at many many different restaurants here on the island, and I am a picky food eater, don't like to waste my money on food that I can cook better at home, but Mamahune's has some of the best food you can ever experience on Kauai, as well as some unique delicious drink specials. Hands down the best onolicious burgers that you will ever taste, sorry In and Out, but Mamahune's has you beat by far. If I could offer money back guarantee I would, but I'm just a lucky customer to have found this place through a friend.

We had high hopes for this place and it was a bit of a let down. We sat at a table and it took probably 15mins before anyone came by. We ordered drinks, water, and food. It was probably 15more mins before we got out cups of water. Then our drinks came shortly after. The drinks were VERY overpriced for the size and quality. The food finally came out... and that's when we were told they were short handed. Spring rolls were on a bed of wet greens, which meant they were soggy and not crispy. I got the Niciose salad. Just a little lack luster on overall flavor. The hubs got the tacos and they were overfilled, which in most cases would be a plus. But the sour cream was the majority of filling so it overpowered everything and the poor single corn tortilla couldn't handle that mess. The hubs even scrapped it off but it was so saturated it was just falling apart. He asked for an extra tortilla to rebuild it himself and their reaction was pure confusion. We were right by the kitchen window and they had no idea why or what for. He told them his fell apart and he wanted to rebuild it. They bocked at him but then the waitress asked the cook how much to charge for the single tortilla. And they did charge us. The views and fun tiki-hut ambiance...

Looks like it needs new management. I was down at the beach and decided to walk up and get a drink with my wife while my parents watched my kids. When we arrived there was a short line, however out of the 5 workers I saw there was only 2 people actually working. The poor girl doing everything from working the line at the register, taking orders from people sitting at the bar (even though the sign said to order at the register) and making all the drinks, which she had to look up how to make so she was obviously fairly new. She did amazing for what I could see and always kept a smile on her face. Just maybe not trained well for not knowing the menu or even special deals they were offering. The only other person really working was the cook obviously. 3 others really did nothing but fill up water in a big bowl and get in the way. So after being 3rd in line we finally got our drinks about 30 minutes later. Didn't have any food so won't comment on that but it...
