Check out more in my pack raft stories highlight Always recreate responsibly and Leave no trace when exploring outdoors. 📍Willow Beach to Emerald Cove 4.9 miles RT in the Black Canyon section of the Colorado river - Lake Mead National Recreation Area (AZ) 📍Centennial Park to Shoshone Falls 8 miles RT include a 200 yard portage across Pillar Falls. Make sure to watch out for base jumpers as you paddle under the Perrine Bridger-Twin Falls, ID 📍Diablo Lake paddle as far as you’d like on the turquoise water. 5 miles one way to cross the whole lake. Park at the Thunder Knob Trailhead for easier access-North Cascades National Park 📍Rainy lake accessed by trailhead of the same name. 1 mile hike to the lake to paddle surrounded by 2 large waterfalls and the snow capped peaks of the North Cascades North Cascades National Park. 📍Wailua River to Uluwei (Secret) Falls 45 minute paddle then 20 minute hike and then swim under the 100 Ft falls. Sure who wouldn’t want a week to spend in paradise and spend the $$$ on epic helicopter and boat tours but this itinerary will provide you with incredible adventures with spectacular views you’ll be itching to write home about. Arrive and Enjoy Dinner at Oasis on the Beach as you enjoy sunset over the water listening to the waves crash on the shore. Day 1: Kalalua Trail to Hanakāpi’ai Falls (Nā Pali Coast) 🥾 8.1 miles RT 2,000 ft gain Pro tip: Make your shuttle reservation no later than 9 AM so you have a full day so you can enjoy the views, Ke’e and Hanakāpi’ai beaches, and a swim under the 300 ft falls. Day 2: AM: Wailua River to Uluwehi (Secret) Falls Kayak 45 minutes up the Wailua River explore a traditional Hawaiian village, fern grotto then hike 1.6 miles round trip and take a dip under the 100 ft falls. PM: Beach time at Shipwreck beach Hike Maha’ ulepu Heritage Coastal Trail 🥾 3.9 miles with 321 ft EG Shipwreck to Gillian’s beach Views, sea caves, wildlife, native ruins and petroglyphs Day 3: Wailua Falls Overlook Drive Waimea Canyon stop at all the overlooks 🥾 Awa”awapuhi Trail 6 miles with 1,945 ft gain Bring a picnic and enjoy views of the Nā Pali coast Or Canyon and Wanimua trail Loop 8 miles of Waimea Canyon views and Wai Poo Falls Finish the day snorkeling and relaxing at Poipu Beach Please practice leave no trace when exploring outdoors. Pack out all your trash, TP and food scraps. And while Uluwehi aka Secret Falls is definitely not that, it was definitely a favorite adventure on our trip to Kauai. Save to plan your adventure. We took our own packrafts (inflatable kayaks) on this trip and It was the perfect way to avoid the crowds because we could start before the tours. You can also rent kayaks or take a guided tour. Near-can't-miss experience on Kauai. Certainly a can't-miss if you're in the area. We rented kayaks from Kayak Kauai. All the kayak rental shops on the Wailua have a limited number of independent kayaks they rent out every day (reserving most for guided tours). So make sure to book a few days in advance. We kayaked up the river, and hiked the 1mi to Secret Falls. Slippery, with some river foot crossings. Best to have water shoes rather than flip flops or...

Great experience kayaking up and down river. Good for beginners, as I was! Hike to secret waterfall moderate. Be prepared to get muddy if it's recently rained. Slippery and messy but totally worth it! Once you arrive to waterfall, you feel peace and accomplishment!! So amazing. I high recommend water shoes for entire trek. I had a $20 pair from Amazon that worked great. I brought hikers and never used because water shoes did the hike and...
