Paco's Tacos Authentic Mexican Food — Restaurant in Kauai

I recently started using my State Restaurant card to support local business and decided to order from Pacos Tacos in Eleele, I ordered a basic carne asada burrito with chile verde sauce with rice and beans and my wife ordered the carne asada taco salad, we both started to taste our food, first off my refried beans tasted very sour, more like spoiled, I have never tasted beans that bad. Mine and my wifes carne asada tasted very salty, steak seemed it was just reheated and salt poured on top. I remember when they started as a food truck the food was cooked fresh even the steak and seasoning was spot on, over the years the quality has gotten poor, so I am sorry to say, I will not even use State money and order their food again. They should go back to the roots of mexican cooking or they will not...

Never in my life have I been treated worse at a restaurant. I would never, ever go back nor would I recommend this place to anyone. Last year I was in Kauai for a month. I had heard good things about this chain of mexican food restaurants. I order 2 fish taco's with guacamole, which they charged me $3 extra for. I get my taco's and all i see is a green spot on my tacos, that looked like the size of a dime. I went up and told the guy I ordered guac and paid extra for it. He harshly said 'you got your guac' and slammed the window shut in my face as I was trying to say that there was barely any there for $3. Literally the size of a coin. Horrible. A cute little taco stand advertising “authentic Mexican food” located just off the main highway in Hanapepe (although I think there are other locations elsewhere on the island).

On a Monday at 11:45 we were the only customers and each ordered two tacos, fish and carnitas. You order at the window and they call you when the food is ready. There are a handful of picnic tables scattered around the taco shack or get the food to go.
