I was a little nervous going in. It's a small grocery store with a kitchen off to the side, and a seating area for eating in. The staff was SUPER friendly, and the large banner displaying the different meals was easy enough to understand. The smells of my food was heavenly, and I couldn't wait to dig in. I ordered the dinner so I could have beans and rice as well, and let me tell you - HANDS DOWN the best beans I have ever eaten! The rice was fantastic. The food was amazing. Authentic and delicious, and I'm stuffed and couldn't finish it. Every bit as good as or better than what we used to eat for many years in Yuma, Arizona. I will DEFINITELY be back with my family, and I've already shared photos and told my kids...
Read moreStopped in for a quick lunch - it was my first visit. The gentleman working was very friendly and welcoming. My husband and I ordered the Tostada with carne asada (steak) and it was delicious! My favorite was the elote cup corn, which was actually what brought me in! It was a short wait for the food but it was fresh and worth it. For getting three drinks, two corn cups and two tostada's it was roughly $22 - prices were low but the food is as exceptional! I liked how the business was also a little Mexican market. There's so many things there to try. I love that they sell a variety of Arizona iced tea flavors, too! The Sol Apple soda was a new try for me and so good. Awesome experience and we will go back!...
Read moreStopped in for an authentic steak taco and I did not leavedisappointed 😃.
I don't speak Spanish but thankfully the person on the register did.
The tacos were exactly what I needed after walking around at 1,000 Islands down the direct. They were fresh and hot served with lime and a sauce that was a little too hot for me. But then I find standard black pepper too hot so don't let this commentary to dissuade you from stopping by.
It's also a grocery store and I was very happy to find a good selection of authentic Mexican cuisine. I bought a nice queso to take home.
If you're in Kaukana you should for sure stop by. Someone told me they also operate a food truck, I would definitely check them out...
