My mom used to take me pretty much everytime she would go check the health of jabber and Irish. Rest in peace Irish he was a great Quaker. And jabber is such a wonderful bird. I'm 31 now, and still know jabber likes respectful children who when by his cage aren't loud or stick their fingers by him and aren't rambunctious. He loves happy respectful and quiet but awesome conversations. I don't remember the crows name there he passed awhile back but that crow was very funny and liked to dance. And love how jabbers favorite food is pea pods. First thing jabber goes for is his pea pods. I wonder if that snapping turtle is still in his spot? The snapping turtle has been there for over 20 years maybe...

It's so beautiful here. I love just sitting by the water and doing work on my computer, watching all the animals. The trails are kept up and clean, they go right through the water as some are built with bridges and boardwalks. It's so calming and perfect place for a hike and pictures. There's different outlook piers where you can sit and take in the beauty of the Fox River. In highly recommend this to everyone. Good for family as well. Real little kids you'll want to keep close if the water is high along the bridges and boardwalks there's no sides or railings. Overall this is 1 of my favorite places to visit...

1000 Islands did not have an organized Environmental Center when I grew up in Kaukauna. Now, just across the Fox River from Thilmany Mill, perhaps the worst environmental offender in town, is tucked this well organized meeting center, with a trail system, that's a bit steep in places, land stewards, Eagle watchers, it is just a delight. Organized Garlic Mustard removal showed me that here are people who, indeed, care about the land. I saw species that well reflect the mesic woodland surrounding the parking lot, which is just your beginning into a trip through a time once thought to be long past. Enjoy the woods...

Sweet rapids🤙😎✌️ Low level rapids🌊 are fun to take with a kayak. Check the water level as it can get too low to paddle. If low, recommend launching kayak after the rapids. Go with the flow to Rapide Croche. Note the dam🦫 is on the right. Stay left to portage lock for Wrightstown.🌇 🌳Amazing Nature Center🍁 with so much to see and learn.🥾 Trails along the Fox River🏞️ are great for a hike.🚶🚶‍♀️ Playground for the kids.🚸 🅿️Parking available. Restrooms available.🚻🧻 Cool place to enjoy nature, relax😎💆‍♀️💆‍♂️🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️ and have fun!

The learning center at 1000 islands has a lot of hands on and interactive displays for kids and adults. The location of the trails right next to the Fox river creates a wonderful backdrop to a great hike. Some of the boardwalk was a little wobbly but otherwise it is kept up very well. I very much enjoyed myself here. Take time to sit and watch the wildlife! The goats are here eating the invasive plants in the spring and fall!
