Ruthann's Gourmet Bakery & Coffeehouse — Restaurant in Kearney Township

We got married at Castle Farms on December 30, 2019. We had Ruthann make us a 2 tier (8” and 10”) cake in a semi-naked style with flowers, about 50 cupcakes in 3 different flavors, 2 dozen chocolate covered strawberries, and about 50 heart shaped bride and groom decorated sugar cookies. Everything we tasted was delicious, and guests enjoyed it a lot too. Ruthann is super sweet and easy to work with, though she’s not very responsive to email which made planning from Metro Detroit a bit difficult (but she always answered quickly when we were able to call). Prices were reasonable (less than $1,000 for everything I listed, with a $250 deposit when we booked her), and we were able to do a tasting at her home bakery before booking. I recently had Ruth Ann create my wedding cake and everything about my experience was FABULOUS! First off, Ruth Ann is the sweetest and easiest vendor to work with- she does what she says and does not over complicate the process.

I was a little nervous because I never had the opportunity to taste her work or meet her in person ( we live quite a way away and had a destination wedding) After speaking with Ruth Ann I thought to myself, this is going to be the best cake you've ever ate, this lady is a hidden gem. Ruthann made our wedding cake and everything about it was amazing!! We were able to get her last slot for that day and she was extremely accommodating. We made a trip out to meet Ruthann ahead of our wedding to do a tasting and decided on the classic almond flavor. I'm not a dessert person, but it tasted amazing and even I looked forward to eating it on our big day. She perfectly captured the look we wanted, a two-tier semi-nude cake, and our florist added the final touches on the day of.
