I was very excited to try El Berrinche in West Kendall since it advertised itself as authentic Spanish food. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing.
I ordered takeout and while the wait time was minimal and the restaurant itself is nicely decorated, that’s where the positives ended. I ordered albóndigas with rice, garbanzos fritos with chorizo, tortilla española, and huevos rotos. The albóndigas were raw in the middle and completely bland. The garbanzos came with blood sausage, which was not listed on the menu and something I personally find inedible. Had I known, I never would have ordered it. The huevos rotos were nowhere near the quality of a competitor just down the street, and while the tortilla was decent, it was neither the best nor authentic.
I called to clarify about the garbanzos and to mention the raw meat, and the staff confirmed the blood sausage but offered no apology or explanation. That lack of accountability was just as disappointing as the food itself.
I truly want local restaurants to succeed, but with this level of quality and customer service, especially at the prices being charged, I cannot see this place lasting very long.

Food: Portions are fair, with flavors and textures reminiscent of Spain. Prices, however, are a bit on the higher side, and the wine list feels overpriced.
Service: Very personalized and attentive, both from the dining room staff and the chef, whose explanations and care were much appreciated.
Ambience: Nicely decorated with a warm, cozy vibe. Though the space is small with limited seating, the bar is inviting and offers a good variety of beers.
Conclusion: A “tasca”-style spot—cozy and ideal for good conversation. With time and experience, it has the potential to improve and become a true...
