Used to love this place until I was blamed for having bad luck because my capresse empanada didn’t have any tomato.
Heres my story...
Came in and ordered 6 empanadas, 2 coffees and drinks. After we paid, an associate then told us that the coffee machine was broken. We opted for a dessert instead. At this point, I would have assumed that the dessert we chose which was only $1 extra would be compted as a courtesy... it was not offered so we added a cookie and paid the difference. My wife had the caprese, and at first bite she noticed that there was literally 1 tiny piece of tomato. She ate it anyway. I bit into my caprese and not only did it not have a single piece of tomato but it was RAW. I went to the girl that charged us and she gave me another one. The second one I ate did not have a single peice of tomato either. Im not one to make a scene so I just ate it as i was very hungry and waited for my family to finish. The manager came out at this point. My wife approached her to tell her in a friendly way that she is a frequent customer and that the caprese could use more tomato because she has come previous times and has noted that it never has more than a tiny peice of tomato in it. The managers response SHOULD HAVE BEEN: Im so sorry about that. Ill make a note to the chef. INSTEAD she said: i eat that one all the time and it has tomato, Maybe its bad luck. Bad luck????? Seriously??? 3 empanadas back to back the same day? Not to mention pass time.
HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE!

Read moreI moved into the neighborhood a few months ago and was delighted to find this place. The empanadas are not cheap but they are worth it. The problem is the service. Sadly it could not be worse. It appears though many reviews complain about the service and Im assuming in these times when employees are scarce the owner(s) just look the other way. The young ladies that work the register act as though they are forced to work there, and will even roll their eyes at you. When theyre not being blatantly rude they are actually sarcastic when you ask them something. unless of course when they are talking amongst themselves and then they appear to be happy. The young lady who appears to be the manager and wears a purple shirt is no better. She is usually at one of the tables casually talking to someone and has never once come by the table and asked if everything is ok, in fact she has taken care of me before and it has been the same indifference. If you want good empanadas and dont mind dealing with bad attitudes then this place will be fine. Its a shame though so much potential and the employees just dont care. Maybe one day the owner will read the reviews. I for one will never come back and will not...
Read moreMy husband and I frequently visit Gauchos. It is near our home, the food is good, and the service is pleasant. I noticed a lot of negative reviews about the service which unfortunately it appears that some of the patrons do not understand the restaurant service model. Basically, it runs like a tapas market bar where you place your order at the register and the food is brought out to you. It is not your typical restaurant where you sit down and they take your order. All the service personnel that we have encountered in the many years we’ve been visiting the restaurant have been pleasant. Fabiola, is usually our server. She always serves us with a smile and is happy to get us any additional items we may need. She is wonderful. So if you’re planning a visit to Gauchos, which I recommend, just keep in mind that it is not your regular sit down service restaurant. It is a market model where you can enjoy great wine at great prices, great food, and service...
