I would really really like to give this place more stars- the food was really good. We had two appetizers, a draft beer and a cocktail. The food: Tomato Carpaccio.. the mozzarella and olive oil were excellent- tomatoes were basic, nothing special and the plating was completely boring and lacked any imagination whatsoever... dish was good but not next level. The Shrimp Toast... definitely next level- so delicious, beautifully toasted sourdough with avocado and a tomato, dill, radish bruschetta topped with plump- perfectly cooked shrimp. The only issue is it was literally one piece of toast for $24... we were not upstairs... we were bellied up the bar downstairs with barely enough room to turn around. The cocktail was so forgettable that all I can remember is that it was very sweet and totally flat. Some kind of lemon, gin situation that was supposed to have tonic or ginger beer or something- it was too sweet and not remotely interesting. The beer was exactly what was expected and enjoyable. All in all, it was like $85 before tip. I have no problem spending a good amount of money on an experience but this just was not it. There are just way too many places in this area that deliver on all points- this place just doesn't deliver,...
Read moreMy wife and I recently had lunch at Casa Seventy Seven. The location and views are as beautiful as ever, and having enjoyed this spot in its previous iteration as The Ramp, we were looking forward to visiting again.
We sat at the bar, and the service was excellentâattentive and friendly throughout our meal. Unfortunately, the food didnât quite meet the same standard. My wife started with a crab cake, which we felt could use some improvement. Her Caesar salad was served as large pieces of lettuce, generously covered with Parmigiano cheese and dressing (she opted out of the anchovies), but it was missing croutonsâa basic expectation for a Caesar.
I had the Shrimp Po' Boy, which was fine but not particularly memorable. Itâs also worth noting that the sandwich doesnât come with any sides, so you may want to add a side (e.g. the fries for an additional $7).
While the atmosphere and service were highlights, the food left us a bit underwhelmed. We hope to see some refinements to the menu, as the setting truly deserves a dining experience that...
Read moreThis is a hidden gem! We stumbled across it by accident while taking a walk in Cape Porpoise. We stopped in for lunch and sat outside with a nice view of the water and boats. Our server Bailey was fantastic. Attentive, personable, great food and drink recommendations. It was probably the best service we had of all the restaurants we visited in Kennebunkport. The po-boy sandwich was fantastic as was the tomato appetizer. The El Pepino drink was excellent as well. We enjoyed our time so much we returned 3 days in a row for lunch. Definitely a highlight of our trip. Thanks to Bailey for helping make our experience enjoyable! We also tried the new restaurant upstairs, Ultramar (same owner) and were pleasantly surprised with both the food and service there as well. Five stars...
