Crawdads are what these low bottom feeders are called in NOLA. Miniscule crustaceans that live in the murky waters of Louisiana. During spring time, these mini lobsters population grow by ten folds so their size can get as large as a your palm. To believe that these guys spend most of their lives in swamps is quite fascinating. You don't get much meat out of them, but the indulging experience is what many of us are seeking for!
I was referred to this place by one of my family member since she used to live in Louisiana. Plus they were the only restaurant selling fresh crawfish during the off peak season. (Went in September of 22'). We drove here and it was situated in a quaint plaza. The shop is between two establishment so it's easily miss if you're not familiar with the area. Thank heaven for gps!
This was the second time we had came back here since they told us that they will be receiving fresh crawdads in the next few days. We wanted to try authentic crawfish since it was our first time in the states so we called in and placed an order to pick up. They have different options you can select and order by the pound from. You can order po boys sandwices, cajun boiled shrimp, blue crabs, andouilee sausages, turkey necks, corn and potatoes. The first time we were there, we got blue crabs, shrimp and oyster and alligator po boys. The blue crabs and shrimp were plump and sweet. Everything tasted fresh. The po boys were ok. Nothing special but tasty none the less. It was like eating a subway sandwich but with the Cajun flavored proteins.
But the best thing from this place is their home made garlic butter, crack sauce. I've been to many cajun/creole restaurants in Southern California and sampled a variety of garlic sauce, but this one here takes it home. Their interpretation of cajun garlic sauce is phenomenal because you taste the true essence of creole cuisine; without all the heavy spices from most of the places I've been to. It's well balance because it's sweet, savory, buttery, and just enough of that addicting spice to make you keep on coming back for more! It's a perfect dipping sauce for seafood and more. Hand down the BEST GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE I've ever tasted. But don't take my word for it. Come try it the next time you're here!
Great customer service and the seafood is as fresh as you can taste them. Go out and support your...
Read moreWe visited Cajun persuasion seafood based on reviews. This is counter service, you order at the counter and pick up at the counter. Many people like to drink beer with their crawfish/ seafood not so here. They said they don’t serve liquor because they don’t want to take business from the next door liquor store so we were told, we could go buy our beer there and bring it to the restaurant. Crawfish was NOT FLAVORFUL, it was nice size but bland. Seafood platter was ok, it had more of an Asian soy kinda flavor than Cajun. The boiled potato has 3 small pots in the order, order of corn is 2 ears it was dropped in the water and that’s it. We had to ask for butter well at least there was Tony’s at the table. This is not a Cajun restaurant! Honestly I don’t even know what it is. Service was horrible, they forgot part of our order and when we asked for the rest of the food the lady just said “sorry I forgot”, we were given 1 fork, it was 2 of us, 2 orders, keep in mind at this point they really don’t care they got paid and tipped for doing nothing but take your order. Yes the system they use has a tip option before signing. THIS HAS GOT TO BE THE WORST SERVICE WEVE GOTTEN IN YEARS! Food is NOT GOOD! ...
Read moreI kept seeing people talk about this place and when I had to run an errand in Kenner I decided to stop by today. I spent about $80 on 2 lbs of shrimp. 1lb crab legs. An order of corn and potatoes. 2 eggs, a turkey neck and 2 large garlic sauce. Food was TRASH! I am so disappointed. There was no flavor to the crab legs or shrimp. The potatoes were ok. The eggs were ok. Turkey neck ok. The garlic butter sauce was mad greasy and I didn't taste garlic or butter. Idk what the hype is. I could have gone to Robert's for this unflavored food. Smh. I never leave bad reviews. Lol. I'ma stick with what I know. Never again!
So it won't be a total waste I'm going to just make my own boil at home and let it soak so it can get some flavor and I'll make my own garlic butter sauce...I'm trashing the sauce bc it's not even worth salvaging. Money wasted.
I hated the parking area as well but I understand that's out of your control. One way in and out and the lot is small.
UPDATE: After reading some of the older reviews I'll just consider this a loss. Throwing it away bc now I'm scared to eat it bc it says they reheat old food and I saw that someone got sick. I'm straight. Never have I ever thrown...
