La Michoacána — Restaurant in Kenner

Okay, this place is amazing. They go over the top with their appetizers and desserts- and I love it- and when I tell you- they have AU-THEN-TIC Central American flavors- I ain’t lying. 😉 The ONLY reason they got a 4 star is because they need to adjust their hours of operation, but that’s not the foods fault- and it’s definitely not the employees fault. They’re always friendly and ready to serve.

The other thing is- it is not necessarily health conscious food tbh. But, in moderation, I think it’s worth the dopamine hit on occasion. I think of this place as a glorified concession stand, Latino-American style! Without the amusement park or baseball field- but we can just pretend. Plus who needs an event, when their menu is the whole damn show?!

It was good, other than asking for bubble gum in my bubble gum ice cream and getting some weird crunchy sprinkled candy topping instead. The communication was some how lost in translation, from how and what I ordered to completely not understanding what I wanted. I felt a little like I was in the twilight zone on that one, because we had discussed exactly what it was that I wanted before placing my order. We did an order pick up. Half of our order was ready when we arrived. They did not have the bubble waffle batter ready and needed to make some. They kept apologizing for the wait, but it was really nothing. In no time I had my waffle ready! Once I got my ice cream I ate the entire thing! The waffle was amazing and the ice cream so delicious! I am craving more because that's how delicious it was! I would highly recommend going to this place! We have gone before and gotten the elote which was amazing!
