My Granddaughter had her 14th birthday yesterday. She wanted pizza so we opted for Johnny's off Old 41. Mistake. My daughter called ahead to let them know how many would be there. She even called an hour prior to our arrival to order the pizzas so the staff could have them prepared and not be overwhelmed by our order. When we arrived the waitress was extremely rude and very short with us. She was very huffy. Every time we asked her a question she acted as though we were ruining her day and she would have much rather been elsewhere. When my son in law asked for a sprite for his 4 year old she huffed at him and said very shortly that she would get to it when she had a time. This was a party of probably 20 or better so she had an opportunity to clean up on tips here because all the adults in the party are historically big tippers. Well she blew that. When the apps came out things did not get much better. My son ordered a plate of garlic knots. These things were hard as a rock and had ZERO garlic or butter. He made the comment to me that he should have just ripped a piece of dry crust of a piece of Pizza. I made the mistake of ordering lasagna, or some semblance thereof. I guess they thought if they dumped a gallon of marinara sauce on this they could hide the poor excuse for lasagna underneath. Terrible. This was nothing more than pasta with even more marinara between a couple layers then a gallon of cold marinara dumped over the entire thing. ZERO cheese, neither between the layers of on top. And the pasta was ICE COLD, even though it was ordered upon our arrival. We practically had to beg for refills and when she came out to start clearing the table she removed several peoples half eaten food, before they were finished. We discovered prior to our leaving that this was TRIVIA NIGHT and that the reason she, and the staff were so short and huffy seemed to be because we took up a large portion of the floor seating that generally would have been filled by the trivia folks. If they had a problem with this large of a party due to previous commitments they should have made that known rather than booking us. We have been to several Johnny's locations but I guarantee, this will be the last. And judging by the general attitude of the wait staff, I'm sure...
Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would. I possibly had the worst dining experience I’ve ever had tonight at this location.
I came to this location with my pregnant wife, daughter, and parents. I work in the customer service industry and don’t expect flawless/perfect service every day and everywhere you go but the way we were treated tonight is just sad and unacceptable.
I personally ordered the “Baked Penne” which as described on the menu is seasoned ricotta cheese with penne pasta baked and topped with melted mozzarella cheese, in which the waitress came back and asked to clarify my order specifically to make sure she had it right not once but twice. When brought my meal I was brought spaghetti pasta with meat sauce.
I did not eat this meal, it wasn’t what I ordered and didn’t even taste good itself. It had taken a while to get out our large order anyway so instead of sending back my meal to be replaced with what I actually ordered, I opted to eat on some of the pizza we ordered which was very good.
When the waitress showed back around after 20 minutes and asked if we were ready for the check. I told her politely that my uneaten meal wasn’t what I had ordered but it wasn’t a problem I had pizza but just for her to remove it from the bill. Her response was verbatim..”oh….well you really confused me when you ordered it because you can order all this stuff in a bunch of different ways but I guess I can go take it off your bill.”
I didn’t complain, I wasn’t disrespectful, and I didn’t cause a scene. Why she felt the need to blame me for not taking my order properly is beyond me. I didn’t make a bunch of request or changes to the meal I just asked for baked penne.. didn’t get that, got blamed for the fact that it was wrong, and got our receipt practically thrown at us.
I don’t want any coupons or free stuff, one experience like this is enough for me to not deal with this location again, and I don’t even care for anyone to be fired or reprimanded…but do better and...
Read moreWe were 40 minutes from our destination and Johnny's NY Pizza was at the 1/2 way mark, it was 9:00, they closed at 10:00 so we called to make an order.
We were driving so we just let it ring and ring and they never picked up for about 15-20 minutes. We were going that way, figured they were busy and stopped into place an order in person. When we walked in, the place was almost empty so I tested the phone from the front door and called and could hear it ringing and just let it ring as I went to the counter to order. 5 employees milling around on cell phones and talking, no one said hi, or came up to help me, the phone is still ringing in the background and I watched as they ignored it. It's now about 9:20 we are half way home and wanted pizza so I hung up, called out to an employee, she took our order and I waited for it.
I asked her why they didn't pick up the phone she told me they were busy, hmmm, Okay, on their cell phones and talking.... At any rate, I paid, gave a $5 tip anyway, and took my pizza home, 15-20 minutes away. When I got home and opened the box, I didn't expect to be hot, but I did expect it to be cooked, the cheese wasn't melted all the way through and the dough was still gooey.
We finished cooking the pizza and it tasted okay. I would not recommend this restaurant though.
I went back and forth between 1 & 2 stars and settled on 1. I'm not mad or anything and the pizza was okay, but I think they need an adult in charge, or at least someone that could help them to remember that are at work, I assume they get paid for being there, you know an exchange for,...
