Fiancé and I came here to try a new breakfast place for the new year of 2025. Read ALOT of mixed reviews before going and decided to try it out for myself. The place was clean, and the atmosphere was cute and quaint. Not a lot of people, so there were plenty of tables. The greeter was polite and friendly, and we got seated at our table within 30 seconds of walking in. Our sever was prompt and friendly as well. Now for the food. My fiancé ordered the breakfast platter that consisted of 2 eggs cooked your way, bacon or chicken sausage, grits, but he opted for their breakfast potatoes instead, 1 pancake or waffle and a biscuit. I got their piedmont omelet, which consisted of bacon, chicken sausage, onions, and yellow cheddar with a side of grits. I got my omelet with egg whites and white cheddar instead, and I saw that they had loaded grits, which it was their grits topped with white melty cheese and bacon. I also got a side of their chicken sausage gravy and 1 pancake. The omelet was just ok. It would have been better if the chicken sausage had SOME type of flavor. To me, the "sage chicken sausage" was the worst part of the omelet and the sausage gravy. No flavor or seasoning what so ever. Just tasted like bland boiled meat cut into pieces and thrown in as an afterthought or to make it look meatier. The gravy was just as bad. Tasted like flour, no salt or seasoning of any kind, and then with the chopped bland chicken sausage just made it worse. I read many reviews where they said that the biscuits were dry, and that was true for our biscuits. They were very dry and crumbled easily, but the saving grace was their cranberry apple butter. THAT was DELICIOUS!! I tried his potatoes, and they were ok. I could barely taste the "moon dust seasoning" on the potatoes, so that kind of lacked in flavor as well, and his bacon was so crispy, almost borerline burnt but all in all, atleast his potatoes were ok. The pancakes were pretty good. They were light and slightly fluffy, but the star of the show to me besides the cranberry apple butter was their LOADED GRITS!!.. The grits had the perfect consistency and creaminess and the white melty cheese with the crumbled bacon on top was the chefs kiss!!. I took the rest of my grits home as well as the cranberry apple butter that was leftover. All in all, in agreement with my fiancé, it's just ok. It's not a place we think we'll go back to to try something different. There are too many things this 1 round that just really...
Read moreIf I didn't have to select a star, this rating would be a zero. Let me start by saying I will NEVER dine at the Kennesaw (1450 Ernest W Barrett Pkwy NW #410, Kennesaw, GA) location again. Not because the food was underwhelming or because of the service we personally received, but because of this location's GM, Jody. This man was rude, disrespectful, loud, and embarrassing. On 8/29/24 there was a young man dining alone for breakfast. When his meal was complete and the bill came, he attempted to pay from his phone using Apple Pay, which unfortunately, the restaurant doesn't accept. I watched as he quietly spoke to the servers in an attempt to find a solution, which eventually resulted in the manager (Jody) coming to speak with him. Instantly this young man was met with hostility. The young man quietly and calmly tried to explain the situation, how when looking online he saw Apple Pay as a payment option, so he thought it was ok. As the manager responded, his voice raised - resonating through the dining room, then he started to chastise and berate this young man, all while using a tone and verbiage that suggested this young man's actions were intentional. Not one time did I see this young man return the energy or disrespect he was receiving. He never got loud, never raised up from his seat, and never projected anger. He calmly sat there, offering solutions that the manager rejected. Even after the server returned saying they were going to charge off his ticket and he didn't have to pay, he continued speaking with her about other options. My mother and I finally stepped in to help this young man, who was extremely grateful for the help and in helping him, he blessed us. That GM had no compassion, no empathy, and no respect. All he saw was a young black kid and treated him like he was just there to get over and skip out on his tab. No person ever deserves to be spoken to the way Jody spoke to this man, who was clearly trying to right the error. A simple oversight and misunderstanding doesn't warrant a person trying to demoralize another. I was grieved and disturbed that this event took place. We speak with our dollars and I STRONGLY recommend you taking your...
Read moreI went in at 8:53a Friday NOT busy at all, a few families seated, pretty quiet. ALL the workers crowded in the back/kitchen area just talking. I walk-in and not greeted by a single person. I look at them and they look at me and then I Go to the bar to place an order. Still waiting no one comes up to the front. I asked a customer sitting at the bar eating if anyone is working, he said they took his order earlier. still waiting for a few minutes standing awkwardly at the bar, I look back and see a non-black couple walk in and immediately a girl comes to the front to greet them, they’re seated. at this point I’m debating on walking out and feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Eventually a girl comes to the bar and takes my order. She was nice. While I sat at the bar and waited I assume the manager just walks behind the bar, says nothing puts the food on the counter and walks off. the food sits there a minute and the girl comes back but the same guy is giving her a hard time I guess and she walks from back there again. I’m sitting there thinking like my food?? Getting cold??? She comes back behind the bar quickly and grabs my food tosses it on the counter and says a quick have a good day and dashes away before I could even speak. No sorry for the wait or anything. FINE. My food….. I’d give the food a 2 out of 5. The grits were just goopy and bland. The sausages were BARELY cooked! The eggs with cheese were great. The biscuit was dry. And the food was lukewarm. Also I realized after I left there was no napkins, utensils in my bag. overall left feeling terrible and let down. I used to love this place and the staff used to be so friendly and the food was amazing. What’s a waste of $14. this location went downhill. Just go to Wendy’s or anything else for breakfast. And being a POC I don’t think I’d want to come...
