Manager 6/15/25 Briocci Brown.
We Ordered an appetizer (kettle chips, bacon on side ) at 1:20pm. We ordered our food about 5 minutes later. At 1:40pm I went up to the line where our server was and asked about our appetizer. At1:45pm it arrived
Tv - they had a show with heart transplant surgery showing the open heart and blood run through the catheters that she was getting ill. I asked the manager if the channel could be changed because it wasn’t appropriate for people eating. He changed the channel on that tv and put the same show on both tvs at the bar and the tv now in front of me.
Lunch - I ordered Bahn Mi wrap with grilled chicken and fries. I waited for anyone to come back to the table, as I’d received a fried chicken bahn mi instead of grilled. The manager came over to the table and said again dryly - your sandwich will be out soon- and walked away - didn’t ask how anything had been Didn’t apologize. That was the extent of him checking on us. A few minutes later he brought out the wrap. I took the wrap off the plate He asked me if I wanted the pickle. I said “no” and he walked away. He didn’t pre-bus the multiple plates on our table. He didn’t notice our glasses that were empty and offer to refill. Nothing. I began eating and he passed the table with the broom and dust pan. He didn’t check on us but I said “excuse me could we get some refills on our water?” He said “sure” and then snapped his fingers at someone and about 3 minutes later we had water.
At the end, the server said that everything had been comped for us. And…It should have been. The experience was awful.
Post meal - As I was talking to the server about showing me the bill because I wanted to tip her appropriately, and discussing the issues with the manager, Bri, the manager, sneaked up quietly behind her trying to listen to what she was saying to us about the experience - at which point I made very clear that he was behind her. I then started taking to him. I didn’t raise my voice, but said everything in a very matter of fact manner (my mother would have called me out if I was rude). I told Bri that we have been here a lot but this is probably our last visit. As part of my job, I’ve ordered Marlows numerous times via a catering website, but I really felt I couldn’t do that anymore as this was such a bad experience. (I will point out that at no point in any of our conversations did he apologize for any part of our experience). I said it started with the long wait time for a very quick appetizer, the requesting twice to have a bloody surgical procedure removed from one tv and then the 3 tvs he added it to after that. Then confirming with him “didn’t you say you would take care of it that second time?” he didn’t say he agreed. He just said “it’s Father’s Day and I had other things to do” I said “and sure, I’ve worked in restaurants. I know it gets busy and things happen. That’s why I looked back and saw you sitting at the high top behind me doing nothing. Just sitting there”. His response was “I was not sitting there” I said “I’m sorry, you’re right, your were indeed standing there. Standing there doing nothing” At this point he said to me “look. It’s Father’s Day. I have other things to do. You’re being disrespectful. I’ve comped your meal and you don’t need to be disrespectful” I told him I didn’t believe it was disrespectful. I was not raising my voice. I was stating what had happened and then you called me a liar saying that I hadn’t seen you back there just standing there instead of responding to a customer request. That you’d never checked on us at all” He carried on with saying he didnt need to be disrespected and walked away.
I gave server a 20% tip in cash and we left. At no point was a yelling or aggressive with Bri. Although my voice hit a high pitch when he...
Read moreI called in an order tonight and was told to pick up in 20 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant at about the 20 minutes requested, and was told by the host I would need to go to the back and see the gentleman at the bar. I went back and stood in line behind a door dash driver who was waiting for a pick up. I waited for 10 minutes and during that wait, I was never acknowledged by any one of the servers who passed by, any of the bartenders or the gentleman working to go orders in the back. He could at least asked my name so he could check for my order or given me a wait time, but he never spoke to me and only made eye contact when he spoke to the driver in front of me.
I was about ready to leave but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt so I stayed a little longer and remained patient hoping someone would ask if I needed help. A second Door Dash driver arrived holding up his phone and the gentleman working the back went over to him directly and got his food order, bagged it, and he got out the door promptly. I decided to leave at this point, reluctantly, but I just couldn’t stay despite the fact that I am aware of how restaurants are struggling these days with employees, staffing and revenue. On my way out, I passed right by the host, empty handed, and he said nothing, even though I was visibly frustrated.
I acknowledge that the restaurant was extremely busy, which is why I didn’t bother the bartenders who were frantically mixing drinks and filling orders the whole time or the other servers taking care of their tables. If the priority for restaurants is catering to the door dash and Uber drivers instead of the actual customer who is coming in on their own to pay and take the food out themselves, that is a bad reputation to be building. I actually like eating here and the food is always good, and I’ve never had an issue at this Marlow’s before but this was really a bad look. I hope it is not becoming the norm and that...
Read morePretty unhappy with our last visit here (last weekend). Marlows has become a favorite spot for us because it’s rare that we find a place that everyone has at least one thing on the menu that they love. Anyway, we come at least once a month and easily spend $125-$175 each time. The last time was so bad that we aren’t sure if we’ll be back again.
To start, my son ordered the buffalo chicken wings with a side of fries and a side of buffalo sauce for his fries. His wings came dry with a side of buffalo sauce and no fries. I mentioned to the waiter when he returned that the side of wing sauce was for the fries that he was still waiting on but the wings were supposed to be tossed in buffalo sauce. They took them back and tossed and brought them back but still no fries. So I reminded that he was still waiting on the fries and would need the buffalo sauce for dipping. Eventually the fries came but no sauce, so had to ask again for the buffalo sauce for his fries. When the sauce finally came we were about 25-30 minutes after the wings were originally brought out.
My wife ordered a mocktail that she gets every time we come and it was not good or made the same.
I ordered the filet medium rare with the compond butter and it came well done. When the waiter returned he said they would remake it. They did and the 2nd time it was cooked med rare but it didn’t taste seasoned and they didn’t include the compound butter. I asked for the butter and by the time they brought it out the steak was cold.
The service was very slow, not like what we’ve experienced in our previous experiences here. With all the issues we had, and having to wait long periods before the server returned it was not relaxing, the food was subpar and we were res to just go home. Not what you expect when your...
