Food was okay, but not up to par with what we expected based on reviews and descriptions. The atmosphere itself though was nice and relaxed-modern, with pop music and an open-concept dining area. They have grill/bentos, sushi, egg rolls, teas, sodas, desserts, and more.
We got the Rangoon Dip as a starter, and it was delicious. May come back just for this! Came with crispy dippers, and it was perfectly sweet and gooey.
Main meal was a Grill Box with shrimp and steak, which came with a side of steamed vegetables. We upgraded to their Yakisoba noodles for an extra two dollars instead of the steamed rice as well. Altogether we paid fifteen for this dish, and it was honestly not worth it. It was a small portion size, and the meat was also lacking in flavor/seasoning. We had also asked in the beginning if they could make it spicy, but they said it came pre-prepared and that the only spicy sauce they had was sriracha, no chili oil or anything. The vegetables were perfectly steamed though, which was a plus.
For dessert we got their strawberry cheesecake, and it was very delicious! Though the strawberry was just a little bit of strawberry syrup poured on top of a regular slice. They had blueberry and classic available as well. But again, the portion was very small for the five dollar price tag.
They had a build-your-own tea bar as well, which was very good. We got an iced black tea with strawberry, whole milk, and rainbow popping pearls. Came out to about four dollars and this was actually a pretty good size!
All in all, I would say it is a bit expensive for the portions you get and the flavor needs a little extra something, but it may be worth stopping if you’ve been wanting...
Read moreI really enjoy eating at Teriyaki Box for several reasons: 1. It is close my apartment and the food is reasonably priced. 2. Friendly staff and they have apple pay which is super convenient for me because I never have my wallet. 3. Delicious boba.
However, I have to give them 3 stars because of the following reasons: 1. No fountain drink dispenser... Instead you have to buy bottled soft drinks which is quite annoying because I need a good amount of soda to wash down the food. 2. When you eat inside the restaunt they give you much much much smaller portions than when you order takeout. Sometimes I want to get out of my house and just eat at a restaraunt but becuase of this and the reason stated before, I just take it to-go. But, the to-go container is still small for the grill box, so be mindful when ordering. I guess its fair to say its slightly overpriced but its good for a quick bite. 3. Lastly, they charge money for more Teriyaki sauce which doesnt make sense to me becuase that is their brand. And sometimes the chicken doesnt have enough sauce. The teriyaki sauce should be free...
I will still order food from here though despite...
Read moreI actually left the mall around the corner to try this place out! Poor decision as I would have gotten much better food at the mall.
Ordered: Orange chicken, rice and broccoli, shrimp tempura sushi roll and ginger salad.
At checkout, first thing machine requested before paying was for a tip. How when you order up front (like in McD,s), seat yourself, no condiments on the table of which you have to go get and you’re also directed to where the trash can is at the front door before you leave to throw your own trash away?
Decided to “Dine in”. Food was not happily served on flimsy paper plates and bowls. Food barely had any taste and the shrimp in the sushi roll was a joke (as I couldn’t even see or taste it hidden in the rice and barely any avocado to call it that).
Cashier allowed me to try the miso soup as well before leaving and that was a waste of time too! Cashier seems not happy with her job but she’s trying to make the best of it. Tip left for her just cause but I won’t be going back. What a Waste of...
