Papa Murphy's | Take 'N' Bake Pizza — Restaurant in Kentwood

I placed an order online, total due was $45.08. My husband went to pick it up, tried paying with a $50 bill and the worker said they can't take any bill over $20. He didn't even want change, as that would have gone towards the tip. Nothing online says they can't take any bill over $20. The worker told my husband that they had a sign hanging in the restaurant but it wasn't there anymore. That wouldn't help us much, since we need to know that Before we get there, not when we are there, cash in hand, to pick up the order. My husband had to drive all the way back home for smaller bills, then all the way back to the restaurant. He picked up the order that the worker gave him and came home. I asked him where the pop is. He said they didn't give him a pop. I checked the receipt and sure enough we were charged for it. I called the restaurant and the worker said that was their bad and we can go back up there and pick it up. I asked if it could be delivered since we already made an extra trip that we shouldn't have had to make. He said no. He offered no other resolution or even an actual apology, just that it was "their bad." I asked for the name of their manager, he gave me her name, but she was not there and wouldn't be until the next morning. This place doesn't seem to care much about their customers. The pizza is good. I was not sure if I should give only one star because the product is not bad at all but I really believe the way a company treats its customers is...

Prejudice. My mom was going to go to this location to pick up a pizza because she felt at least a little safer during these times to put it in the oven after it’s premade. However, she approached the door thinking she could order and a woman told her to order online only. She then sees a man who is in his truck calling in an order on the phone, so she approached him and asks if he ordered via phone. The man says yes and my mom asks for the number. Apparently, the woman who was working was watching this so she comes out and asks my mom(a woman of color) are you paying with EBT? My mom says no and she says “oh I thought you were paying with EBT, well then you can call and order via phone”. This has been a reminder for my family that Corona sure hasn’t broken barriers of prejudice. I am a healthcare worker that would have appreciated a pizza during this time but my family and I will no longer give our money to this business, I suggest to my people of color to avoid as well because who knows if it’s safe for us...

BEST PIZZA - PERIOD! This is a "take and bake" pizza shop. Their large pizza will barely fit in the oven (see photos). They make their dough daily & all meat and Veggies are prepared fresh daily. Their cheesy garlic bread is lip-smacking delicious and you don't want to share it with your kids or spouse!! 🤣🤣 You can order online or walk in and order. Its faster than any Subway or drive-through service. I always pre-heat my oven when I leave to pick up my pizzas. Pizza is cooked at 425 for 12-18 minutes. They have great benefits for signing up for their text alerts (the best I've ever seen), and they have sales and promos almost daily. The service is awesome! Highly recommend over every pizza...
