Tacos El Ganadero — Restaurant in Kentwood

First time customer at this location, and odds are I may not return.

We ordered our meal as a carryout order. When we got home...about a 6 minute drive fro. This location, our tortas were cold and tacos were just a little over what I would consider warm. That happens sometimes with carryout, the food is sitting there waiting, drive home, etc., lots of opportunity for a cold meal.

The real issue is the quality/preparation of food. Our steak tortas were awful. The steak was so thinky cut and so overcooked/tough that we.could only eat half before it felt like our jaw was going to fall off. The bread felt dry/stale and also very hard chew.

The steak tacos we ordered were anlittle better. The meat wasn't as dry/overcooked as in the tortas, but very borderline. Nobody wants crunchy steak. The only real good part of all the food that was ordered were the seasoned pork tacos. These are some of the better al pastor style tacos I've had around here.

Lasty, they don't provide limes, seriously? Anybody who eats tacos knows you need limes. I shouldn't have to ask for those. They are stingy with the green and red salsa. Our order had 2 Tortas and 4 tacos. They only provided 1 red.and green salsa. For their prices I do not think the quality and presentation of the food was worth it. I may visit again in the future to give another shot as the pork tacos showed promise, but I don't like...

Food was great. However, I was looking at their menu on THEIR OWN WEBSITE and it was posted on the page after you click the link to their menu. I called and ordered food based on that menu and those prices, was not given a price over the phone. I arrived at the restaurant to get my food and was charged double what I thought I would. Their menu says tacos are $2.50 a piece, when I arrived they were in fact $4 a piece. Tamales that were advertised as $1.49 we're $2.75. almost everything was DOUBLE what I thought it was. Good food, but that doesn't matter when shady stuff like this happens. You guys did this on purpose, that's why you wouldn't give me a price over the phone. Probably won't be back because I wasn't taken care of AT ALL even after showing them their own menu on their own website was displaying these prices. If they had taken care of me or even showed that they cared at all I wouldn't have written this, but they literally laughed and said no that's not the price and then just went silent when I asked what they would do for me as a customer for this major inconvenience and misunderstanding and I basically got told to f off....

The first time I ate here it wasn’t that bad but after a couple of bad experiences I basically was done here, but gave it one last chance. It was such a awful experience. It was COMPLETELY dead yet none of the tables were clean. There was black hair stuck to one of the tables. The waitress was horrible. She just stared at us for 5 minutes before finally coming up to our table. She acted extremely rude. We asked for no cilantro 3 times and our food was covered in it. We were served old steak that had been sitting out and they kept messing up our bill. Even the cooks were completely rude and didn’t care AT ALL that we had a bad experience. They told us it is what it is and to just pay the bill. Never...
