I moved my things out shortly after obtaining storage space at this facility because of manager Kathy. I pulled up to the locked gate and noticed a gentleman trying to get into the office. I continued with entering my code and drove through the gate to the direction of my storage. I noticed in the rear view mirror that the gentleman that was at the door has now walked through the gate as it was closing. I thought that was strange so I stayed in my vehicle until the man went to his storage. The man came to my vehicle and chased me out of the storage. When I got to the gate and was waiting for it to open, he attempted to open my car door while threatening me. I was so scared for my life that I ended up turning down Roger B. Chaffee in the wrong direction. I turned back around and locked the doors so that I can contact the police. I wondered where was the staff since it was directly in front of the building. About 15 minutes later an employee cracked the office door and called the gentleman. I stayed in my vehicle until the police came. When they arrived I exited my vehicle and explained what was going on. The manager Kathy came out of the office, interrupted and told the police that the man is a customer and hasn't hurt anyone within the 4 months that she has been there and that he's homeless living out of the storage. She never not once acknowledged my safety or me being assaulted. I was amazed at her lack of her concern especially to be the manager. Immediately I obtained the contact information for the general manager and she was very proactive. She offered to move my storage to another side of the facility and shared that she was going to evict the man who assaulted me because of another complaint the week prior. Though I did appreciate her concern and willing to help, I did not want to take part of a facility who has a manager like Kathy. She was rude and showed the least bit of concern because of the 4 months she claimed she knew the man. I thank the gm for her awesome customer service however due to Kathy I do not...
Read moreMy mother rented a unit with this company. She had serious health issues and was in the hospital. I called the company to let them know her situation and that I had become her legal guardian to manager her affairs. I attempted to pay her bill multiple times only to be denied each time until I provided legal documentation.
I then provided the company with a legal document (the same day) signed by a judge that granted me the right to manage her affairs. The Property Manager Latoya confirmed she received the document and would contact me with next steps.
A week later I hadn’t heard back. I called Latoya andI was told that my mother’s units were sold in an auction. I was lost for words. Latoya later apologized for this and has since attempted to help me reach a higher level manager to address this.
For the last month, Latoya and I have spoken every 1-2 days and I have still not received a call from a Manager. I’m told a Manager will contact me within 24-48 hours each time and nothing happens each time.
The only call back I’ve gotten is from an Assistant District Manager named, Angie.
Angie is hands down the rudest person I’ve dealt with at this company. She used her dead husband as a sob story and told me “when my husband died I paid all of his bills… It’s your fault the unit wasn’t paid.” I tried to maintain a calm demeanor after this ridiculous insensitive comment was made. I then asked, “how do I pay the bill when you won’t give me access to the account?” She then began yelling in frustration because I refused to accept blame when I did exactly what the company asked of me. Angie then hung up on me. I called right back and she went off again. I called Customer Service to file a formal complaint because the way this was handled was unacceptable.
This company sold my mother’s things while she’s in the hospital after I attempted to pay her bill. This is ridiculous and flat out disgusting.
I pray no one has to go through this with this...
Read moreI rented a unit beginning in June of 2013. I was told there was no lease agreement, that rents were collected on a month to month basis. The first time I paid my rent, after starting the initial contract, I paid two months in advance (July and August). The second time I paid another two months in advance, September and October. Well, circumstances were such that I cleaned out my storage unit at the end of September, notified Storage Pros, and was told that I should see the refund of my October rent. A couple of weeks went by and I noticed the money had not been refunded yet. When we contacted the office, we told the lady what transpired, and she said that the refund should have been processed by the man at the desk the day we cancelled, and further stated she would send the paperwork into accounting to issue the refund. Another week and a half later we were contacted and told that it was their policy NOT to issue refunds on prepaid rents. When we asked for the number to the accounting individual we were told that Storage Pros could not issue that information, and that they would have accounting call us. So far, no response - shocking. Bottom line is this. I will never recommend a company that keeps your prepaid rent, especially since it doesn't stop them from renting the unit out again and then double collecting on the unit. It may be your policy, however, it is a very unethical policy, one that is not only wrong, but just poor business practice to take customer money without your policy being very clear up front. I can assure you that you will not only NOT get business from me in the future, but that I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, filing a complaint, and further looking into the legality of your "policy". Lastly, you will not get a recommendation at all for business, in fact, I will recommend U-Haul as the best option for...
