Wendy's — Restaurant in Keokuk

As far as fast food Wendy's is my favorite but oh my the service in Keokuk is hopelessly slow. I'm sure that lack of ability to hire enough people is probably part of the issue and the staff is usually friendly but there are so many bad decisions made about service that it's a wonder we keep going there at all. Last time more than one person left before being served because of the wait time. Someone needs to do an efficiency study of the organization of the staff who are waiting on people. First of all each person has too many tasks. It is not very efficient to have the same person waiting on you also be the person who has to get the food and make change. It's crazy! Either people are not getting the right training or there's way too much turnover. Probably both. One has to wonder how McDonalds manages to do it very well and very efficiently. Better wages maybe or better benefits for workers?? Take a lesson Wendy's OWNERS before you totally lose all your customers here in Keokuk!! I'm blaming you rather than the Keokuk staff. Thank heavens your food is still better than McDonalds but face it, you are still a fast food restaurant and people don't go there because they want to sit down and spend a leisurely hour waiting...

Today was about the fifth time ordering from this Wendy's in Keokuk IA, that they've gotten my order wrong. The last time I had to call and was given a free replacement. Went through drive through and then they forgot the drinks. My son had to turn back around and had to go inside to get our drinks. They gave us four total and the cup holder for large drinks was about to break. They should have reinforced by putting 2 trays together. The staff that we've dealt with act like it's a big problem for them to get the order's correct. The past two times I wanted a baked potato with my chili and they completely forgot to put them in our order. All it takes is to read the screen and check the bags to be sure everything is there. I won't be going back there again, and that's sad because I love Wendy's chili. But I just can't trust that I will get my order as I ordered it. If they don't care then maybe they shouldn't be...

Their breakfast menu is very nice and a good value. You can eat somewhat healthy if you choose carefully. Breakfast is a new thing here so the help is still getting used to the menu. When asking for coffee be sure to tell them to use the Number 4 button for a large coffee if you want creamer in your coffee. The smaller size coffee uses a Number 2 button. Their customs coffee drinks come out quite well without coaching. This is a very good franchise in a good location and the remodel is done very tastefully. Seating is comfortable and spacious. Staff are all very friendly and accommodating with good attention to any requests.

The menu as a whole offers good selection but still heavy on fat and cholesterol. The salads are a great healthier alternative to burgers and have quite a nice variety. The portion size of the salads is a little on the small side, so order the large option...
