Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Kettering

Stopped here today and sadly same old song and dance, “Out of Chicken” My review from a year ago still stands. This place is pathetic, and the employees attitudes match the service. I really don’t know how they stay open.

Came in here 2 days in a row, Day 1 they were out of chicken, I was told it would be a 35 minute wait. So day 2 I come back and they are out of mashed potatoes and of course… out of chicken. How does a chicken restaurant run out of chicken, it’s called unpreparedness. I was inside during this visit and the person at the counter told me “We’re short staffed” I feel like short staff has become an every day excuse with this generation and management holds no authority because they’re scared to say something to this soft fragile generation in fear that they might quit. “We’re short staffed” has also become the new normal for incompetence and poor work ethic, I literally counted 8 employees working, 2-3 of which were on cell phones. I mean how many people does it take to run a chicken joint, in my day we did it with 3 fortunately we didn’t have people worried about Facebook and instagram while they were at work, Seriously, Out of mashed potatoes? With 8 people, how many people does it take to mix some powder and hot water together? Tell people to get off their damn phones and do their job, Maybe they would be prepared for dinner rush. They want $15 an hour and yet the customer is less of a priority than they were when people were making $4.75 an hour like they did in my day with half the people they have now when they are supposedly “short staffed” these kids couldn’t walk a mile in a Gen Xer’s shoes and...

Simply Fabulous! I don't understand most of the bad reviews about this store. I have visited this establishment on multiple occasions this year and each time the service has been impeccable, the food outstanding, the cleanliness exceptional, and the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly.

If the bad reviews are keeping you from visiting this Popeye store, I encourage you to overlook them and experience it for yourself. The managers on staff go out of their way if you ask anything of them and I'm always greeted with a smile.

Food pricing is a bit high, but everything is high under Biden/Harris. The cost of the food has no bearing on the quality, quantity, or taste. Every fast food restaurant has young people working. That is the nature of the industry. The young people on shift each time I've gone (Popeye's is now my favorite chicken restaurant so I go fairly often), the young people have been well mannered and respectful.

Unfortunately, the establishment doesn't have a Veteran's discount policy; however, on my first visit I asked about the discount. The shift manager advised me they don't have the policy and said they should have, so they gave me the discount as a courtesy. That kindness kept me coming back although I never asked for it again knowing the policy.

I hope they read this review and implement a discount policy for Veteran's and Senior Citizens. That would make the food taste even more...

Here we are over a year later, and I decided to give them a try again. They have a new policy: exact change or credit card only. Would not make change from $13 for a $12.10 order. I went elsewhere. There is something wrong with this franchisee. I have had them close early, serve really stale food, Not have drinks available (of any kind). I think it is time for me to quit giving them second chances. This location is not well run! Chicken was stale, had been under the heatlamp too long and they forgot to include my side. Been nearly 3 years since I was here and it isn't any better. Why are Popeye's in crummy neighborhood always better July 4th 2019 they posted a closing time of 8:00 pm, but decided to leave early. According to tracking function on my GPS, I arrived at 7:52 PM, received the recorded greeting to look over the menu and an an associate would take my order soon. At 7:57 PM, when they told me that they were closed. Pretty crummy way to close early. At least have the decency to turn off your drive through if you are leaving early for the night.
