First thing: this is NOT a sit down restaurant. At all. They have a few picnic tables outside, that's it. If you want fancy, this isn't it. We went prepared based on other reviews here and it's worth it. This place is for to-go orders.
-We brought our own crab leg crackers. They do not give you any because it's to-go.
-We brought our own wet wipes to help clean up after, you get napkins, but anyone who has had crab legs should know that no paper napkin is enough.
-We called a local brewery, "Low Tide Brewing" and asked if we could bring outside food. They said it was fine so we took our food there, got some amazing drinks and ate our massive amount of crabs for 2 hours.
We got a garlic butter snow crab legs boil and a Cajun butter blue crab boil. While both butter options are great, I would recommend the Cajun butter over the garlic as it's the perfect level of some spicy without being too much. This was my first time having blue crab and it was an interesting experience lol.
The amount of food you get on these boils is crazy. After 2 hours we still had food left and ended up not being able to finish all the potatoes. While the prices look the same as the touristy spots it's easily twice the amount of food and tastes so much better. I highly recommend planning out your trip to include this spot, especially if you co.ebouy to a a Johns Island to see...
Read moreDelicious delicious food! Love the cajun garlic butter boils. We also bought some shrimp and crab home to make ourselves. We love that this is a small family business! SUPPORT LOCAL!!
Yes the hours were incorrect on Google, just add a change to it, it’s not a big deal; to leave a one star review because of that is totally childish (be nice to one another). In fact, we stopped by Monday thinking it was open because of what it said on Google, all you have to do is put in a change to the hours on Google and it will update. Yes, they are also requiring wearing a mask inside; not only to protect their own family, but to protect you, their patrons as well! It’s not a sit in restaurant, wear your mask to buy your food, then either take it to go or eat outside on the picnic tables (make sure you bring bug spray!)
It’s a young family running the place, they’ve got little kiddos, folks need to be more understanding!
I will definitely recommend to friends and be back to eat any time we’re back in the area! This is our second day in a row...
Read moreThis place is awesome! Probably one of the best boils I ate lately. Besides making fresh, tasty food they also sell fresh seafood and fish. We ordered the crab & fish boil in Cajun sauce which was AMAZING! The Cajun sauce was balanced in a perfect way. Fried Okra was the side we chose which was fabulous as well and our baby son are the friend fish which he LOVED and ate almost the whole thing. The Simply Seafood team was very welcoming and nice they explained to us about the menu and gave us several recommendations for our first visit. On a more personal note, this is a small family business, of two hard working parents. They give this seamless experience to their customers, but in addition they are raising two beautiful kids while doing all of that. During COVID-19 times I have nothing but pure admiration. Keep the great work guys and thank you again for all the yummy food, we promise to come back when we're...
