What a disappointment. I stopped here on the way to pick someone up from the Gatesville airport and I was a few minutes early. I've never been here before and was a little overwhelmed by the menu.
I saw they had a tropical flavored sundae and asked if I could get it in a shake since I'd be driving. The lady said yes and went through the list of ingredients to verify I wanted them all. I told her I did. I also ordered onion rings because I absolutely love them and try them from different places when given the chance.
I pulled up to the window and my total was $11. I was confused but thought maybe she rang me up for a large or extra large shake by mistake. Then she handed it to me but before I could say something I heard a manager talking to the lady who assisted me. The manager was explaining (to her, not me, I just overheard her while i was waiting for my food) that she mischarged me for my shake and instead of ringing me up for a vanilla shake and adding each of the ingredients, she should have just charged me for the tropical shake. She began to walk away when I spoke up. I asked if she was going to fix her mistake since I was still there waiting on my onion rings. She said something like, "Oh, I didn't realize you could hear me. I'm sorry, she's new." The manager then processed a refund of my order and rang up the correct items. It was $4 cheaper.
I was very disappointed that the manager was just going to walk away and wasn't going to make it right. And on top of that, my food was terrible. My onion rings were burnt and unable to be eaten. My shake wasn't blended. It might have been in a cup but it was served as if it were in a dish to be eaten with a spoon. The chunks of pineapple were an inch big. The macademia nuts were whole. The cherries still had the stems attached and I ended up sucking one up the straw and choking while driving!!! I basically drank vanilla ice cream through the straw and had to tip the cup up and eat frozen fruit after the ice cream was gone.

Shoestring fries that are seasoned amazingly, with fry sauce? I'm obsessed. The burgers are incredibly tasty and in my opinion are my go-to classic 'fast food' burger. The long sliced pickles and the crispy edges of the smashed burger patty really make it stand out to me. I've never had them make a burger wrong, either. I always order mine without onions, and my boyfriend's without pickles, and I've never had a mix up! (Which even if it happens once in a blue moon we are all human. It's just awesome to note I've been there often and never had it happen to me).
It is a little pricier than McDonald's or other similar fast food burger joints, but to me it's well worth the extra money. I enjoy a meal there far more than a meal from a cheaper joint.
I use the app almost exclusively now because I like having the time to think through my order without holding up a line, and I can't forget to collect points that way. I got my first free meal from my points and it was very satisfying. I wish they would start preparing my hot food before I arrive that way I can get in and out without having to wait for it, but the wait typically isn't terribly long. It has taken a while on a few occasions which can be a pain.
Lastly the custard. I'm a big texture person when it comes to food and the rich smooth creamy texture of their custard is a winner for me. There is no uneven or unexpected lumpy chunks to it... I'm obsessed- it's so rich I don't need to order much of it to be satisfied. A mini sundae does the trick every time.

While ordering our food at the drive thru, we took our time looking over the menu and we didn't think it was an issue. We ordered our food and proceeded to head to the drive thru window. By the time we pulled up to get our food, I was downloading the App. My husband told the person at the window I was downloading the App, but I told him it's okay to pay without the App because it was too late. After paying, the employee left the window open and spoke horribly about me and my husband. How we took our sweet time and how my husband had the audacity to say that I was downloading the App. We heard everything. Upset and embarrassed, we grabbed our food and looked inside the bags to see if we had everything. The employee and his co worker looked at us with an ugly look as if we were doing something wrong. I have never had such a horrible experience with any other restaurant, other than this. Is this how Freddy's serve their customers? We also were missing medium sized fries. I have tried calling the restaurant multiple of times, yet Noone answered. I will never return to this establishment and I will let my friends and family know how horrible this place is. Such a shame.
