When I first moved here from NYC I was looking for an eatery meaning, where's the best Chinese and Pizza? Great Fortune was on my early list, and I continue to go there for Chinese. It's certainly the most well known. This restaurant has a memorable vibrant decor, and ample seating to dine in or out. When possible spring for the"Glazed prawns and walnuts " with a wine, sit outside and fully enjoy the full experience. They prepare an attractive and enjoyable plate of food. My other choice might be the savory shredded pork with garlic sauce, and rice noodles with chicken and shrimp in curry sauce. Prices and offerings vary from lunch to dinner. So I'd stick with lunch for the value it offers. One minor negative ..The orange chicken was disappointing as the chicken needs to be much thicker chunks, I hope they improve that dish, as its a fav of mine. The staff is always friendly and the service good and quick. Would love them to offer Dim Sum and cheesesteak rolls too, just a suggestion. A great choice when you want Asian food in the area. Nice place for family, friends,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeing new to the area, we asked a stranger which restaurants he could recommend. He recommended Great Fortune. The food is the best Chinese food I've had in a long time. We went during lunchtime on a weekday. The food was brought out quickly and was so hot that we almost burned our tongues. 3 lunch entrees (includes soup or egg roll and fried or white rice) , an appetizer of crab meat fried wonton, and one beverage was about $50. We brought home leftovers that heated up very nicely. We will be back. All the employees were very friendly. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean. They have an outdoor area so I asked if our dog was allowed to join us outdoors, and was told yes! As we left, we were reminded to bring the dog when it is nice outside. Our dishes were crab meat fried wanton, moo goo gai pan, General Tso chicken, and shrimp and scallops combination Hunan style. The hot and sour soup was the best I've had in years, and the wonton soup was a deliciously flavored...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBest we have been customers for going on 9 years, always with the most satisfying food, and service. That came to a crashing vault last night We ordered 2 green tea as our drinks, 2 egg rolls, a General Tzu chicken to split. One pot of tea can, not two (we were charged for two. Our main dish, the chicken arrived before the appetizer , without plates to share the meal. The appetizers arrived a for a second time we asked for plates, this fell on deaf ears of our waitstaff. After complains to the owners, plates finally arrived, our meal was now cold. We also ordered a side order of pork fried rice, but only received a small plate of fried rice, which was also cold by the time plates arrived. This experience has left us with...
