My family and I stopped to eat at Goofy Goose while on vacation. Half of our party ordered pulled pork sandwiches, and sweet tea. When the sweet tea came out, we were told one of the teas is sweet, but they ran out and the other two will need to have sugar added. Not a huge deal per say, buuuuuut this is only the beginning.
After waiting about 20 minutes, our waitress informed us that there is actually no pork left and we will need to order something else.. I'm not sure why it took so long to tell us that, but we ordered different options.
A few minutes later we noticed people walking around barefoot and a gentleman bring his dog in, and his dog even jumped up in a seat at the bar... Kind of off putting to our group.
We entered the establishment at 5:18. At 6:10, we still had not been waited on any further. No refills, no food, nothing. We had to get the servers attention for refills and asked how long it would be until the food would be ready. We were reminded again there was still no sweet tea...
At 6:15, a gentleman walked up us and apologized about the wait. He stated "we actually are completely out of food, but we have someone else bringing more."
This is where we threw in the towel. We wasted an hour of our vacation sitting in a room waiting to be told that they don't even have food in the building.
I will say the employees were friendly, and clearly understaffed, but that doesn't excuse the lack of communication. If they would have been more upfront with the current situation we wouldn't have had any issues trying their establishment at a later time. But this trip was enough for my family and I to vote no to any future visits to this...
Read moreFour of us dined at Goofy Goose Sunday evening and what an amazing experience we had! Poncho made us feel welcome from the moment we entered the lower level area. Our icy cold beer was brought quickly and when we had decided on our meals we ordered at the bar. They were busy and we appreciated that we were told it might take a little bit for the food. Our food arrived in a timely manner and it was outstanding. We ordered the Pork Tenderloin sandwiches , the fried Shrimp basket, and the Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap. Each dish came with perfectly seasoned and crispy fries. Everyone raved about each of the dishes, and every bite was finished despite the very generous sizes of the servings. Poncho was very engaging, fun and entertaining. You can tell he really enjoys what he does and being around people. He made our dinner out not just delicious but truly enjoyable. We love this place and cannot wait to return. It is accessible by car or by boat, is very casual but very clean and especially friendly. We highly recommend you...
Read moreGreat place to go for a beer, but not food on weekends! We literally waited 4.5 - 5 hrs for our food!! I'm happy their business on weekends has exploded, but we will not go there to eat on a weekend again! They served many others who came in after we did. Just because we were patrons of 2? They did not serve out by order. They are definitely overwhelmed. That's a good thing around here! They need kitchen help and a more efficient kitchen! We were last to get our food before they closed, took it to go. After checking our order, they were still missing the fries and salad dressing, wing dip, so waited again for those. Bartender kept the beer coming quickly though while we waited. This upped the bill significantly. We tipped her well as she deserved it! They were sure happy to keep us happy for all that time! Ha! I wasn't leaving after 2 hours in, we were starved! No other food options open at that time. They are all kind, but I won't do that again!! Order consisted of; 6 Wings with a Dinner salad and 1- Shrimp Poor...
