We were on the road and decided to stop in here instead of hitting the McDonald's because we wanted something better. Big mistake. Even the worst McDonald's would have been a better choice.
First of all, we had to seat ourselves which is OK but, it seems we became invisible. Wait staff kept walking by saying they would be with us in a minute. Finally, one actually stopped and asked if we had been helped. So, about fifteen minutes in, we got drinks.
Once our order was placed, it took another twenty minutes which isn't bad if you get waited on promptly to begin with.
The food came out and it was not terrible. But about halfway through my burger I noticed water dripping from the ceiling on me. It was running off of a filthy HVAC vent. I was unsure how much had dripped on my food and decided I didn't want to eat any more.
We flagged the waitress down and showed her the leaking vent and water on the table. She responded by saying, "Scoot over!" Then she motioned for me to sit at the next empty chair at our table.
She disappeared and was gone a long time. She finally showed up and was walking past us and we asked for more napkins and attempted to ask for some silverware (we only got two sets for the three of us) but she hustled out, grabbed some napkins, tossed them on our table and disappeared again before we could ask for silverware again.
The waitress appeared again about the time we were done and said she would be bringing our check. She never did that. We finally grabbed a different server and she retrieved our check and took our payment.
She was very nice and asked how everything was. We told her and she apologized profusely and offered to get a manager. At this point we just wanted to get back on the road and put this dump behind us. We declined speaking to the manager and just decided we will avoid this place at all costs in the future.
My advice, eat at the McDonald's across the road over this place (even if you hate it like I do). You'll be glad you did.
It has been twenty-four hours since I ate at the Iron Skillet and my stomach is...
Read moreWe've eaten here before and both the service and food were excellent, which is why we chose to eat here today. Unfortunately, today was not nearly as good. When we sat down, our waitress (Casara was her name, according to our bill) just tossed the menus on the table and walked off. She came back a few minutes later and took our drink orders, then came back with the drinks and took our food order. Then she went on break. Never did come back to check on us (even though we needed drink refills before the food came out). About 40 minutes later, the food comes out (they were not busy. There were maybe 4 other people in the whole place besides us). When our waitress brings the food, we had to ask for multiple things that should've come with the food, and she forgot our silverware. About 5 minutes into our meal, she comes back with the bill and says she's going on break (again)(not leaving for the day, mind you, just going on break), so when we're ready to cash out, we should flag down one of the other servers (indicating she had absolutely no intention of providing any additional service to us). The food was...okay. Several things were overcooked and had very little flavor, and there were still things wrong with the food. But, since we had no server now (since ours went on break for the second time since we sat down), we just ate what we had. True to her word, our waitress never came back. She received no tip at all, because she provided essentially no service at all. This is unfortunate, because our previous experience here made us really like this place. After this time, though, I doubt we'll be back. Gave 2 stars because my daughter's chicken parm was good, as was the toast. Everything else...
Read moreThis place has food. It's alright. Sad to see the limited selection it used to be much more than that. But I found something more than food here a couple years ago I found love. But to make a long story short i scorned it. I dont remember her name. And I doubt I'd even recognize her at this point unless she looked exactly the same memory has never been great but as bad as that sounds I do remember what it felt like holding her hand having her next to me seeing her every day I possibly could meeting her parents watching cartoons on my phone with her youngest boy and hoping he could be best friends with mine and what it felt like letting her go and trying to forget her knowing the chances of ever being able to see her again were gonna be slim to none in my profession. So for two years I tried not to think about her and it worked for a little while but everytime I managed to pass by here after bouncing from job to job trying to find my fit I found my foot on the breaks no matter my time frame the day where I had to be or I found myself catching the next exit and Turning around to come back. Even the risk of sabotaged food wasn't keeping me away. (Dont mess with people who make your food) so then I found a home every day job and the first week was great and I've found my fit job wise and then I finally got my route and when the boss told me what it was...now just about 5 days a week in the morning I find myself at a table ordering hungry or not. And tonight for some reason. I guess I just want to apologize. For what it's...
