Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Kingsport

This location has been tanking over the last 6 months. Steadily the quality of the food has declined and the wait times have gotten way too long. Today we visited and decided to try the stall because the drive through was a known problem. No one answered the button after 10 minutes! Having hungry kids we decided to just get in the drive through line. There was a car in front of us but oddly the driver wasn't saying anything. After 5 minutes she sped off around without ordering and parked in a stall. I got to the box and waited probably another 3 minutes until someone came on to take the order. Another 10 minutes in the car line (we were the only ones there and maybe 5 stalls were occupied) and our food finally comes out. What a disappointment. My BBQ popcorn chicken only had the BBQ coating on about half the pieces, the tots were barely still warm, and my cherry lime aid tasted like straight up soda water. Out of my family of 4 slushes only 1 tasted anything remotely like it should have. Do yourself a favor and if you want Sonic go to the Johnson City location. I guarantee you will drive the extra 20 minutes out of your way and have your food before this one can mess...

Gotta have the Red Bull slush, a reason to go to Sonic for real. I got mine with coconut, I think next time I'll try coconut & vanilla. Also, if you do you gotta get the app so your slush is half price. Also I thought I would try a pretzel and it was actually pretty AMAZING as well. Super fresh and soft and buttery and salty and cheesy - all the feels. I've not really been someone who goes to Sonic a lot except in the past and from time to time I'll crave a Cherry Limeade. After getting the Red Bull slush today I'll DEFINITELY be going back more. And it's super easy to order ahead on the app and just pull in , wait for them to bring you your order (and by 'wait' mean like just a few mins). The only thing about the app I don't like is you never see the prices until you go to checkout. Which is fine if you're getting things you know the price of already. Not a huge deal but just a little annoying. It's not like anything at Sonic is expensive LOL. My boyfriend at I was at Sonic on Friday March 23 and we proceeded to order milkshakes. First of all Sonic was not busy enough for our two shakes to take twenty minutes. Second when we ordered I had asked for cheesecake in one of the shakes. The young man taking our order rang up coconut and when I mentioned it he said it would be cheesecake in the shake. Well surprise twenty minutes later when the shakes came out to the car I asked the carhop about it and she said I’m sure they were it cheesecake in it. Well when I tried the shake it had the coconut creme flavor in it. Every car stall was full at that time and I was never able to come get someone to fix it.
