Country Kitchen — Restaurant in Kingston

Have eaten here a number of times over the past few years. And until visiting there about one month ago, would have recomended without reservation. However, I had a disappointing experience there recently.

Stopped in with a friend for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. Ordered a chicken fry. First bite tasted like fish. You can imagine how it got that way.

The server even asked why I had not eaten the steak. Explained to her that it tasted bad. The server even said, it smelled like fish upon closer inspection. Server brought it to the attention of a woman who seemed to be in charge, who said nothing.

Upon leaving, I asked the server for some accomodation on the price of the meal since it was unsatisfactory. She said she would like to, but the other woman would not permit. Was charged full price for a inedible meal. Not likely to be eating there again. A shame, I liked the place until being treated...

Love this place for home made food! Best place to eat real food in texoma area! We had chicken fried steak, bacon cheeseburgers, onion rings, mashed potatoes, and sweet potato casserole. I have cooked homemade for years and am very picky. I'm not exaggerating when I say the food was amazing here! Real burgers with really 100% beef thick patties which is hard to get at other restaurants and chain restaurants. Very clean and decorated cute! Makyla was our sever and she was one of the best servers we have ever had! She had a happy cheerful disposition and was very patient answering questions about the menu. We had a couple fav places to eat in Durant but now they are different with new owners or closed. We will now be driving over to Kingston from Durant to eat here. My son ordered French Toast. The toast was not cooked enough and gooey. He only ate half.

My husband ordered a Spanish omelet, hashbrowns with biscuit and gravy. The Omelet we mediocre but the hashbrowns were not cooked enough. The biscuits and gravy were good.

I ordered two eggs over easy, hash browns, and biscuits with sausage gravy. My eggs were not cooked enough, and the white was still runny. The hashbrowns were not cooked enough and were mushy.

The biscuits were nice and fluffy. The sasuage gravy tasted like a powder mix, definitely not homemade. The tea didn't taste fresh.

Unfortunately, I can not recommend eating here as the food was not cooked properly. The bathroom is extremely narrow and not handicap accessible. Our bill was $41 for 3 people,...
