I would like to preface this review by stating that I have been a Flaherty’s customer for decades. The very first thing I ate here was Cajun chicken wings and fresh cut fries, enjoyed while watching MNF with the friend who introduced me to the place. I have eaten the Cajun wings or bites at nearly every other visit here. Approximately one month ago, my family and I had dinner here on a Friday night. This particular night I noted the Cajun wing sauce was different. I was told by the server that this was the new sauce (which I will note was very heavy on mustard). I was also told the entire kitchen staff was new and they may have messed up the sauce. At this same dinner, my husband’s order came out incorrect and all the fries came out cold and soggy. The owner was contacted, and spoke to our server about five feet away from our table. He never once approached our table. He offered no apology or compensation for this unsatisfactory meal. Despite my disappointment, I allowed a bit of time to pass and gave the place another shot. This time, the Cajun sauce was also different, but tasted more like smoky ketchup. I thought back to an article I read in the Citizens’ Voice when Flaherty’s was sold to Bill and Karen Smith by Gale and Jerry. These are direct quotes from Denise Allabaugh’s article, written Aug 28, 2019, and updated Apr 17, 2020: “New owners Bill and Karen Smith of Forty Fort plan to keep the name, the staff, the menu and all the traditions Jerry and Gale Flaherty have started.” “Smith said he plans to keep the same menu and all the staff and "absolutely nothing is changing.” This disregard of a promise made publicly, and the dismissal of our concerns at the original dinner more than overwhelm the many years of good times and good food I and my friends and family have had here. Bill, you have lost a longtime...
Read moreJust went here to try the food and on a Sunday night we had great service by flo she greeted us in the door and set us up at the bar for food and drinks gave recommendations as well as checked in on us. Made a delicious and almost identical Smirnoff bomb pop. And for the food it arrived in less than ten minutes. I was actually amazed they made fresh mozzarella triangles(mozzarella sticks) but also homemade cut fries. But what made me go was to try the cheesesteak. And I must say I wasn’t a fan of the meat. I’m sure great quality just tasted gamey. But as for the meat to cheese and the structure of how it was made was perfect. I ate the whole thing. I give the cheesesteak a 8 out of 10 but the Zerby smash burger with animal sauce was delicious. Highly recommend. And for the whole meal the clams and the wings. Were absolutely delicious cooked perfectly. Definitely my go to spot in the future on a Sunday with...
