Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Kingwood

The front sign was not lit making wonder if the place was even open and this was before 8pm on a weekday. The parking lot itself was poorly lit. When I went inside, there was no acknowledgment from the staff and I stood awkwardly waiting in front of the register while three guys and one girl ran around. Finally the guy who appears to be the manager finally addresses me. I let him know that it was a mobile pick up order. The guy with short greasy black hair kept touching his hair putting it behind his ears constantly while making Blizzards and other ice cream related desserts. I finally received my Blizzard. I stood there for another 10 minutes waiting on my fries while I was being ignored. I saw them take the fries out of the oil to cool down still nothing. I finally talked to the curly head guy and he finally got the fries. What is considered fast food took at least 20 minutes+ just for regular fries and a Blizzard. The flooring and walls were dingy and the entire place was poorly lit inside. The most rundown dirty Dairy Queen I have been to and definitely will not be back! Today we went to the Kingwood DQ around 4:30. They were extremely short staffed with a large group of customers. My husband went in to place an order. Our wait was longer than normal but we were told it would be. Supposedly there was a sign up saying "Be patient with the ones who showed up. No one wants to work." As I waited in the vehicle I saw 2 employees come out for a smoke break. They were complaining about staffing and how bad it had been. Another employee came to join them outside. A family left the restaurant and told the 3 outside they should be ashamed of their work ethic for leaving one girl alone inside to deal with everything the crowd was ordering. Not long after that an employee came out and was obviously upset and crying and walked off premises. A sad situation. Obviously there are staffing issues and morale is low amongst employees. They then posted signs that the dining area was closed and only drive through customers would be served. Not sure who is responsible but it was not a good experience or image for the public. I love DQ, it’s my favorite fast food but today when me and my fiancé went there it was not a good experience. We were the only people in the inside area.. we got his food and they told me it would be 15 min longer for mine because they had to make more gravy... fine. No big deal. When my fiancé got his food... it was already cold and the order was wrong. They remade it, and the 3rd time it was still WRONG! Then we waited 45 min for my 15 extra min food... and still waiting. The inside is dirty, there is no ice in the ice machine, there are nats everywhere. There is 2 guys and a girl in here with no other customers and they are just sitting at the counter goofing off and talking.... I’m very disappointed...
