Two-Star Review: “Breakfast Ends at 11:00, Humanity Ends at the Door”

I arrived at this place at 10:53 AM—clearly within breakfast hours—and waited patiently in line. By the time I reached the counter at 11:01, I was told breakfast was no longer being served. One. Minute. Late. That’s it. No sympathy, no flexibility, no effort. Just a robotic “we stopped serving breakfast at 11.” Never mind that I was in line well before cutoff.

Apparently, this diner operates on some dystopian timecode where customer service dies the moment the clock strikes. What kind of establishment refuses waffles and chicken by the second, even when guests are already waiting?

To make things worse, while the chicken tenders were admittedly tasty, don’t bother ordering an appetizer unless you’re content to receive it with your main course. That’s right—no starters before the entrée. The whole idea of pacing a meal? Foreign concept here.

We had been wanting to try Uncle Tony’s and boy were we not disappointed! We got an appetizer, 3 meals and had dessert samples to try. The mushrooms were so good, each of our meals was fresh, full of flavor and more than enough to enjoy and have left overs. We had wings, chicken sandwiche and a burger and they all were a hit! We were so full but the cashier fellow let us have a sample of the pistachio and the carrot cake and I will be going back to just get a slice or 20 lol. I also want to compliment the young man behind the counter because he was a delight. He gave us not only the history of the place but also helped us to order items with suggestions and he just seemed to genuinely love his job which is very rare these days. I’ve been to this place twice. Although they advertise a drive-thru, it’s not a traditional one. The first time, I called ahead and the burger was good, so I thought it could become a regular spot. The second time, I tried the “drive-thru.” After ringing the bell and waiting about five minutes, someone came out and, rather rudely, told me I couldn’t place an order there and needed to call instead. It didn’t make much sense to me since he was standing right in front of me and still refused to take the order.
