I am not sure what we can say that hasn’t already been said many times. What an incredible experience! I should preface with saying we were extremely lucky to have been able to book, same day, on Father’s Day. Had there not been a cancellation we’d have been grilling hotdogs probably. I convinced my wife to just call and see if there was a chance. Sure enough we got called immediately and had our quote and order in place in minutes.
We are in town visiting my mom who’s recovering from a broken leg but was intent on having us all over so something like this would really fit the bill. We opted for the later dinner option. Exactly as promised Luke showed up and immediately set out to get things going.
I want to stress that this as much an experience as it is about eating. Can you make your own steamer pots? Sure.. can you setup and serve everyone yourself and spend the whole evening running around? Yep. Or you can sit back, relax, and watch everything unfold with your guests. Zero stress. No timers.
We had ordered some of the pork for some of the kids. That was put in the oven right away as well. We had a birds eye view of Luke building our pot. He was extremely friendly, personable and attentive.
Our table was covered and set. All condiments, seasonings, sauces, utensils all in place. Luke gathered everyone for dinner and the big pour onto the table and it was just perfect. Expertly laid out. Perfectly cooked. Of course we assured him there’d be no food left, there was somehow! As family and friends ate Luke checked in and made sure everyone was satisfied. Then as we were wrapping up he began cleanup, made sure we had all the seasoning we needed and packed up our leftovers. Just amazing. There was literally nothing for us to worry about after the meal. That is priceless.
This has been long winded but it needs to be. This is not the cheapest meal you will have but it will be one of the best you will have. I just had the greatest Father’s Day meal of my life thanks to Outer Banks Boil Company. My family (wife and mother especially) were in heaven. Thank you Kirk for making it happen and Luke for the delivery of...
Read moreWe had a family reunion in Nags Head the first week of July 2024. We had 21 people in the main house and another 5 in a secondary house. Normally, we would all go out to a restaurant for dinner one night during our week, but since 100% of the family made it to the reunion trip this year, there were way too many. What to do? Our niece suggested the Outer Banks Boil Company which she has used in the past and highly recommended. They come to you with dinner – they cook it at the property, set up the eating area, serve the food in boil style fashion, and cleanup after the fact. What else could you ask for? We booked our reservation for the early meal. Beau showed up 15 minutes before his arrival time to scope out the place and recommend options for the best place to hold the feast. Normally, all food is cooked together but we had a situation where certain family members ordered additional seafood above the normal shrimp boil. To ensure the food was distributed properly, Beau went above and beyond and cooked two pots, back-to-back, utilizing the stock from the first pot to maximize flavor. What an experience! The food was magnificent and the service impeccable. Beau provided top tier service and represented his company well. Ironically, one of the favorite ingredients of the boil was the andouille sausage – was the first to be devoured. I would highly recommend, and we plan to do again. Albeit a little on the high end, it is worth every penny. Thank you Beau and the Outer Banks Boil Company for a...
Read moreHighly recommend!!! We’ve been seeing ads and fridge magnets for Outer Banks Boil Company for years and finally decided to give the “Best Pot on the Beach” (to-go boil) a try this year. Absolutely amazing! We are kicking ourselves for spending hours making our own seafood grill packets year after year. Never again! These pots will be a staple for all of our OBX visits to come.
Highlights: generous portions - especially the shrimp! The crab legs were also a huge hit. The seafood was super fresh and the quality of all ingredients was outstanding. We ordered one pot per person and it was the perfect amount, even with some very “big eaters” in the group. It was well worth the price. Ordering online was super easy, they texted us the next morning to confirm the order and then sent a reminder the day-of. The instructions given at pickup and included on the handout with the pots were very clear and easy to follow. We did a cup of beer and a cup of water in each pot and it was delicious. They provide all the seasonings, butter, lemons and cocktail sauce (which was delicious!). The non-seafood eaters LOVED the pulled pork and cole slaw, too!! The corn bread muffins are an absolute must - while you’re at it, order 2 per person. They’re THAT GOOD! And the key lime pie was a delicious treat for dessert. We ordered 2 table cloths, threw everything down on the table and had a feast! The best part… cleanup was a breeze. We can’t...
