Island Bookstore — Local services in Kitty Hawk

To the Manager / owner....After visiting your store in March of this year I had seen a book that looked interesting but did not buy as we had our 2 little grandsons with us who required our attention. After coming home, I regretted not purchasing the book....Bear in mind I did not know the title.....After calling your store and "describing the story line " your kind employee went the Extra mile in finding the title for me !Even calling me back after she found it !!!Her name is Lori and you are very lucky to have her in your employment....After working 50 years in the retail business she defines the true meaning of Customer Service ! My daughter and I walked up to Island Bookstore and we really liked it. It was hard to just pick one book, I saw many that I was interested in, and so did my daughter. A lot of different subject areas to choose from, current events, history, kids, music, etc. They also had a small magazine selection, but there were some very cool magazines that I had never heard of that I was interested in. I didn't get to talk to the staff very much because they were dealing with some needier customers, but they seemed very helpful and knowledgeable. There is also a great staff picks section. Great bookstore with all the options you could want. I loved their different displays, highlighting titles I haven’t seen much. They had a table in the front with local authors/outer banks specific books. Check the back for their section of giveaways (free with a purchase) - that was one of my favorite parts!

The staff member was knowledgeable and friendly. Parking was simple - free lot right outside the store. I had my 1 year old in an umbrella stroller and there were only a few tight corners that were tricky to get around, otherwise...
