So while in North Carolina I had a craving for pancakes and French toast you know the carb attack I call it. So I stopped here and it was not anything fast you at all. I noticed that there were a few people there and they seem to be doing more chatting than eating but I didn't let that stop me. We will offer the seat once we placed our order at the cash register. We bought our tray eating utensils coffee or tea I had coffee over to our table sat down and waited for our food. Now the menu said that the French toast was fluffy and thick. When these French toast slices came to my table my friend immediately laughed because they were not going to described. The French toast was thin like a slice of Wonder bread. So I don't know where they get the idea of describing it as thick. I did complain and I was simply offered to choose from something else on the menu which I did not want because I was already set on having French toast. So I begin eating the French toast. There was no hint of nutmeg no hint of cinnamon. I didn't ask for overpowering flavor of either but just a hint can a girl just get a hint of flavor and her French toast? So yeah I ordered some cinnamon. Now one thing I will say that was very nice was they had a syrup specifically for people with diabetes or people who choose to use less sugar. That syrup came out nice and warm from the kitchen to my table. Had it not been for my friend asking for such syrup I would have never known there was one made specifically for people who want to take in that sugar. So one good thing that came out of stopping here is there is such a product. I will say this the coffee was very good. I just hope that the manager changes the menu when it comes to advertising French toast as thick I'm thinking I'm going to have challah bread french toast now Wonder bread which kept me wondering where was...

Walked in and the setup is confusing. Part buffet style, part order your food at the register. The drinks were probably the best thing in the joint. Cokes and juice. Stuff they can’t make. We ordered our food and were directed to sit by the window and that we could pay later.
As we were sitting down a young woman approached us asking for the payment. She stated the total and we were kinda shocked at how high the bill was for 4 people. When the young woman returned, I noticed there was an extra charge on the bill for service. No one said anything about another charge.
The food did come out fast. The pancakes were flavorless. Bacon was cooked just above raw. Grits were some sort of yellow color and also flavorless. Kids pancakes have a strange flavor and my wife’s shrimp and grits had 4 shrimp and little grits were buried under some hodgepodge of Mexican toppings. They kids only ate the bacon. Stated pancakes takes funny. They did.
Over all mediocre food, no real flavor, for the price. Will not go back there again for brunch.
While we ate we saw a family of 3 try to get in the building but they could not. The staff was asked if they were closed and no one could give a yes or no to that answer. That family walked around for a few minutes trying to get in and finally gave up and left.
The times on Facebook and another site do not match. One states they close at 2 the other states they close at 1. Before you get all Worked up, these are the times for the one near mile marker 4 in Kitty Hawk. Do not know about...
Read moreI thought I enjoyed the Waffle House. Ha! This place puts the Waffle House to shame. Before you walk in you can smell delicious food being prepared. Once you enter, you will get in what appears to be a buffet line except you pick your fruit and drinks. Proceed down further to the cashier and she will take your order. Don't know what to pick? Their menu is written on a blackboard overhead and boy are there options!! Pancakes, waffles, grits, hashbrowns, bacon..
I opted for a stack of chocolate chip pancakes with loaded hashbrowns. The pancakes were fluffy and buttery (really good) but the highlight really was the loaded hashbrowns. I ordered with Waffle House (scattered, smothered and covered) expectations and was blown away! They were so tasty, cooked perfectly and the combination (and ratio) of cheese, bacon and tater was on point.
My hubby chose the banana pecan stack with bacon. He prefers walnuts with banana but was pleasantly surprised with how good they blended the flavors.
My little guy got chocolate chip pancakes and bacon. This one is hard to please. He was full quickly (a sign of quality food) and was protecting his leftovers like he found a treasure chest.
What I like most is the fact this place is family owned and operated. From granny to youngins they were at work! I love that and everyone was friendly. For this reason alone I would continue giving my business but it certainly helps that their prices are reasonable and the food is amazing. If it weren't for the fact our vacay is coming to an end we would be back but next...
